Keeper Rules

- 3 players per year max.
- Can keep players twice (so three years total per guy) before forcible release.
- Players take the value of there draft round in the first redraft.
- Players move up in value by 5 rounds for the second redraft, or as high as they can go otherwise.
- If you end up with stacked picks (multiple players as keepers who count as the same round) they build up backward. e.g. if my keepers are draft picks 3, 4 and 5 I would loose draft picks 3, 4 and 5 in the first redraft and 1, 2 and 3 in the second as each player would be upgraded to an effective 1st rounder by the 5 round rule and therefore stack up.
- Undrafted players are valued at round 10 for the first redraft.
- Traded players initially count as there drafted position with the +5 rule in effect for all subsequent years.
- Years of eligibility are team specific, based on the round value of the player when traded to you. e.g. if a player is drafted in round 12 and is kept by another team for one season they will be valued as a round 7 pick when traded in year two due to the +5 rule.
- Abuse of the above rule by trading away a player over the keeper period only to get them back afterward will invalidate the resetting of two year eligibility.
- Once a player has no eligibility left on a given team they will count as a 1st rounder if traded away to somebody else and retained

Last week I played Cecil Shorts at flex and TY Hilton got into double figures. This week I started TY Hilton at flex and Cecil Shorts got into double figures.

Can't these players show some consistancy?

I can understand why you wouldn't want to play both... I would have started Shorts both times because whilst he is a little up and down he is the top option in Jax without MJD.
TY Hilton has potential; but Reggie is number 1 at all time and Avery tends to get more looks than Hilton as well. I know the temptation was there arfter Hilton's relatively big week last time out...

Two game losing skid for me. Bad week to run into the Denver D. Doesn't help when that's compunded by Phil Rivers and Antonio Gates remembering how to play football. Always galling to lose when you score over 100 points. Hey ho, onwards and upwards.

Sri Lanka Rams have wrapped up the division 2 Title.

I have all but wrapped up the Division 1 title. Not sure what the secondary tiebreaker is, but I won the first divisional game against Mikeygnfl and therefore even if he knocks me off in week 13 we would be tied in H-2-H (the primary tiebreaker) and I would likely win on points scored as i'm over 100 points ahead.

That said, I won't be able to do much last minute stuff to my team for this gameweek as i'm away over the weekend... opportunity knocks... but i am playing Cherries!

RG3 aside, this was a horrible week for my team. Take him out and the other 7 guys that have played so far got less than 40 points!! Pathetic showing! Thanks to RG3 though I've still got a chance to get the win - I need 12 points from the Bears D tonight which is doable but I'm not expecting them to since the 9ers offense is pretty solid and doesn't make many mistakes. Fingers crossed! I need this win to keep my nose in front in the wildcard race!

Well Gronks injury seems to have put the final nail in the coffin for this season-mainly Elis fault- all I needed in a few games was at least 15 points from him and I would have won some of the closer games! Leaving L-Rod-SH on the bench will probably hand me a loss this week too Doh

I actually thought I'd put him in!

A few questions about the keepers- how do you/can you check where players were drafted and also we can keep undrafted players right?

My losing skid continues Sad

I've gone from 5-3 to 5-6. Lost this week despite another monster score from RG3. It's just a total game of chance this fantasy footie. Last week I lost despite scoring 106 points with RG3 on his bye week. This week, he's back and he gets a monster score and I can only get 72 points. It doesn't help when all 3 of your WRs, your TE and Defense combine for a grand total of 11 points!!!! My WRs were just pitiful this week - they scored 6.2 points between them!!

Anyway, I've got Sri Lanka Rams this week so my season looks done now.

Right, I'm back and it seems being away from my lineup on holiday wasn't enough to cost me a game (nor in the West).

Divisions are all sown up, so I think it is just Wildcards up for grabs in the main playoffs.

There's still the playoffs for place 5-8 and that will have a bearing on next years drafting positions... I know this makes loosing sound appealing, but if you "keeper" your first round pick and not your second rounder then being higher in the standings means a lower pick in round 1, but a higher one in round 2 Very Happy

Must admit, I'm not a fan of "consolation playoffs". Never quite got the point in them. I get that it's supposed to keep people interested for as long as possible in the season but unless you're going to have a chance of winning the whole thing then there's not much incentive to keep going. That might just be me though and I've always been a sore loser. I think though that much like the real thing, you keep plugging away during the regular season to finish as high as you can but once the season is done, just leave those at the top to scrap it out for the title while you go home and look foward to next season.

Playoff Scenarios

Based on this week only... There are three weeks left in this league, not two.

Division 1
- Corn on the Schaub have clinched the division.
They will lose a chance at the number 1 seed with a loss and a Sri Lanka Rams win this week.
They cannot clinch at least 2nd seed this week.

Division 2
- Sri Lanka Rams have clinched the division.
They will be the number 1 seeds with a win and a Corn on the Schaub loss this week.
They are already guaranteed at least 2nd seed.

Division 3
-Division is actually still open.
- Prestige Worldwide will win the division with a win this week.
They cannot be number 1 seeds.
- Thunder and Lightning need to beat Prestige Worldwide this week to own the tiebreaker and stand any chance of advancing to the playoff as division winners.
They could only be 3rd seeds if they win out and Prestige Worldwide loss all games.

Wildcards
- There is one spot up for grabs.
- Prestige Worldwide have not guaranteed a playoff spot, but are likely as division 3 winners.
It is possible for them to lose all games, have Thunder and Lightning win all games and have BamBams Warriors win all games and therefore not qualify. Anything other than this set of results occurring guarantees them a playoff spot of some kind as they own the H2H over BamBams Warriors.
- BamBams Warriors are in the diving seat for the wildcard with a split H2H vs Enter RG3 and favorable results against the other 5-6-0 teams.
- They could loose out despite winning two more games in the scenario described above whereby Thunder and Lightning win division 3.
- The 4-7-0 teams will all be out with a loss this week or a BamBams Warriors win, plus numerous other complicated scenarios.

Just to make schedule fit amount of teams
14 teams can be 1 league . Everyone play each other .6 or 8 team play
12 teams 3 divisions of 4 = ,play own div x 2 + all other teams = 14 week schedule so can only be 4 team playoffs
12 teams 4 divisions of 3 = play own div x 2 + all other teams = 13 week schedule , 6 team playoff

It's only Friday and I only have 3 players left to play this weekend!!! Still, last night's lot got me off of to a decent enough start. My flyer on Chaz Schilens didn't exactly pay off though..... Doh

Reasoning was sound enough - dodgy Pats secondary; Jets probably going to have to throw it around to keep up with the Pats offense; not many viable Jets WRs to take targets away from him. Didn't pan out though and can't help thinking that against the unbeaten Sri Lanka Rams, that decision and yet another underwhelming performance from B Lloyd will scupper my playoff hopes once and for all.

Yeah, I noticed you had left Morris on your bench. Didn't think too much of it though since you've got AP and Spiller in at RB and Morris had cooled off a little in his last 2 or 3 games so could understand you going with one of the WRs at the flex.

I've got the Bears D so their battle with AP could go a long way to deciding this match up!

Given the blockbuster trade we made earlier in the season, I'm glad at least that RG3 put in a good performance this week Very Happy

Would be ironic if it's AP that clinches it for you by running all over the Bears D.

Oh it would be interesting if RG3's performance ended my streak after the big trade we made for him. Apologies but I hope not. Winning the whole thing isn't a priority for me now, just getting that unbeaten season.

I know. Ah for me the playoffs are a lottery. The whole thing is quite up to chance but going a season unbeaten for me is better. I wouldn't say no to either though. Please don't shatter my dreams though. My former player coming back to haunt me.

Jeez Barney, even I'm hoping you beat me this weekend now! I don't want to be responsible for shattering anyone's dreams!! Especially since my season is pretty much done win or lose. Maybe I should "accidentally" drop the players I've still got to go this weekend.........

Either way, 14-0 in a fantasy season would be a major achievement due to all the luck involved. You just never know if one week you're going to get matched up against some ridiculous sequence of events on the opponents roster!

Two things are key this week. I've got Peterson against your Bears defence and you have Mathews against my Ravens. Need them to be able to stop the run. Hopefully the Bears will be shattered after last week.

Haha! Yeah, it would have been nicer to be playing more a New England Patriots/San Francisco 49ers type role but if the only way I can leave my mark is to have a Kansas City Chiefs kind of role then so be it...

I wouldn't worry about Ryan Matthews having a big day - he's been massive let down this season. Properly garbage. Peterson v Bears could be where it's won and lost I reckon. At least my Thursday night lot have set it up to be interesting.

This is going to be close Barney but I still like your chances, especially if this Packers/Giants game turns into a shootout - Rodgers could end up having a big game. Ryan Matthews was underwhelming for me yet again. Might be wrong but I think he's only broken the 10 point barrier once this season.
