Keeper Rules

- 3 players per year max.
- Can keep players twice (so three years total per guy) before forcible release.
- Players take the value of their draft round in the first redraft.
- Players move up in value by 5 rounds for the second redraft, or as high as they can go otherwise.
- If you end up with stacked picks (multiple players as keepers who count as the same round) they build up backward. e.g. if my keepers are draft picks 3, 4 and 5, I would lose draft picks 3, 4 and 5 in the first redraft and 1, 2 and 3 in the second as each player would be upgraded to an effective 1st rounder by the 5 round rule and therefore stack up.
- Undrafted players are valued at round 10 for the first redraft.
- Traded players initially count as there drafted position with the +5 rule in effect for all subsequent years.
- Years of eligibility are team specific, based on the round value of the player when traded to you. e.g. if a player is drafted in round 12 and is kept by another team for one season they will be valued as a round 7 pick when traded in year two due to the +5 rule.
- Abuse of the above rule by trading away a player over the keeper period only to get them back afterward will invalidate the resetting of two year eligibility.
- Once a player has no eligibility left on a given team they will count as a 1st rounder if traded away to somebody else and retained

Per the other league post, it’s time to think about the keeper NFL fantasy league for the upcoming season. I will update the top post in the usual fashion soon, but for now if you could let me know your status for the year, and also your opinions on possible draft dates for this league per the below options.

Additionally, can you attempt to set your keepers for the upcoming season by close of play Tuesday 23rd August that would be great. You can do this by going My Team > Keepers.

Note that Michael Gallup, Terry McLaurin, Calvin Ridley and A.J. Brown must be released this year due to hitting the keeper limits. Everyone else is fair game, although do remember that draft positions shift up 5 rounds for anyone kept last year – you can refer to last year’s league post to see who that was.

We do have the somewhat interesting choice of Travis Kelce as a 1st overall pick, having rolled forward from a 2nd round pick last year.

There are 7 players who have to be released at the end of this year, notably a couple of bargain basement round 15 WR picks from 2020 in DK Metcalf and Justin Jefferson

I did consider it re: Kelce, but figured for one last hurrah he's worth a punt - should get huge volume in KC, and still think their O will be top 5 in the league

Nope... I had one stuck on "loading" throughout the entire thing, on a different tab to some of my rankings pages. So even leaving it ages didn't work!

Thanks. I think this is the strongest Team I have had for years, doubling up with Zeke/Pollard seems to work quite well.

Interestingly, I think my team in this league is really quite good... yet I have ended up in 7th, although I will also accept I had various injury / suspension issues which meant the current squad was not always available!

So, whilst there is a little bit of uncertainty, the interim results of the 11th edition of the Keeper league are now available as NFL.com have finalised their scoring for week 17. You may have seen this directly on the site, but they will be recomputing the scores if the game is either resumed (to add points on) or cancelled outright (to remove points).

We do have an impact of this in our title game as Devin Singletary is still in play and the scores are close enough it could make a difference if the game is continued. There are also a couple of Bills/Bengals players in the consolation playoffs, but the players are split across various teams fairly evenly and the score margins are wide enough it likely won't matter.
Ultimately, since our league has nothing tangible riding on it, I am assume nobody has issues with taking the results as per NFL.com's system, whether they revise the scores or not.

Anyway, our interim champion is TM Moot, who followed up the best regular season record with the league title. This makes the Bath City Blues only the second team to get above one championship winning season. They shouldn't get too comfortable at the top, as both our finalists from last year finished right at the foot of the table this year with the worst pair of records. This season we also saw Prestige Worldwide record the highest ever single game score, whilst the Bath City Blue's season total was the second best all time. In other irrelevant news, I lost a consolation playoff game having previously had a perfect all time record in the bracket nobody wants to be in.
