Thought I'd take my turn.

Djokovic v Tsonga.

Could stretch Noles nerves, as he'll have the crowd very much against him, which he's been known to be a bit funny about. Djokovic in 4.

Federer v Del Potro.

Fed may approach this with more confidence than he would have Berdych, as he seems to have been owning JMDP this year. Then again, he did him up like a kipper at AO 2009 and was lucky to get past him at the French. The cold damp conditions may help Del Boy too. However I think Federer will move the big man around more than he likes. Fed in 4, maybe 5 though I think it may be one of those annoying matches where he looks weak.

Cibulkova v Stosaur

Stosaur. In 3 interminable sets.

Errani v Kerber

I have no idea who these people are.

The problem is that the court is so heavy Tsonga can't hit through it anymore

The posters asking the question whether Tsonga can win a slam or not, should now have their answer.

He struggled with Delpo and has struggled all week.

Federer came through a 5 setter lydian!! He nearly wilted in the 5th against a one legged man!!

The huffing and puffing fromDjokovic is such bull, he canstillcomfortably reach everything.

Besides Djokovic (who looks like the likely winner) played five hrs against Murray and then 2 days later played 6 hrs against Nadal and won both matches. Both of those encounters were more brutal than this.

Not sure this match is quite over yet. Djokovic seems to have lost a bit of his punch in the last couple of games, if Tsonga can up his level to the one he showed in the previous 3 sets he could just get back into this...

I'd say it was more like a 3.5 setter, Delpo was cooked after set2 knee-wise.
The point is that Federer needs as tired as possible an opponent on Thurs as I don't rate his chances against a fresher Novak or Jo-W. Anyway...looks like its the semi people expected.

I thought Fed plays the semi final on Friday, not Thursday...?

Can someone clarify when it's being played...?

Federer will need to be much more consistent on the FH if he is to overcome Djokovic.

And sure enough plays his worst game for some time. Djokovic did nothing, but breaks and that's that.

All done ffs. Tsonga gifts the match. Can't blame him much, takes a few more
SF and F in GS to get the nerve for big points.

I feel for Tsonga. When you see home support in the president's box leave, must kill all morale.

You have to feel for Jo-W...the heavy conditions came just at the right time for Novak

You do sense that if Fed plays as he did in the first 2 sets against Delpo then he'll lose in 4 sets to Djokovic.

However if Fed plays like he did in the last 3 sets, it could easily go to 4 or 5 sets with nothing to choose between the two.....interesting match lined up!

You'd fancy JWT over Federer?

Federer hasn't been great this tournament thus far, but he is still the favourite over anyone except Novak and Nadal. There's a reason why he's the most successful player in GS history. That doesn't mean JWT couldn't beat him, but favourite? come on get real!

Even on Roger's bad days Tsonga would have to play one of the matches of his life to win.

If Roger's firing on all cylinders, Tsonga has no chance

Anyway kudos to Djokovic. Great play from both in the 4th set, people will remember the missed Tsonga FH but Djokovic missed a couple of shots in the TB as well; when you have two players blasting like they were it's very fine margins.

Tsonga never really picked himself up, and although Djokovic's level dropped for a couple of games he clearly didn't really have the belief he could get back in it once a break down, and even a couple of brilliant points failed to really spark him.

Tsonga got destroyed by missing those MP's. A few more tight matches against the top 4 will help him, but than again he has had enough of those matches too. Sad.

Emanc, I remember Federer losing sets every round here...On the form jWT was on I would have fancied his chances had they met here. Fed was a very lucky guy today with Delpo knees but that's the way it goes.
You know in the SF that no-one will be supporting Djokovic...but he has to be fave now.
Clearly if Nadal has an easier passage then he's the ultimate beneficiary today.
