I Captained SA at schools and sevens levels.
I played for Western Province where my team mates included, among others, Tiaan Strauss, Corne Krige and Bobby Skinstad.
I also captained Ireland in rugby union.
I have also played for Ulster and Munster.

I have been a professional footballer (soccer) and a pro American footballer, but I only ever played club rugby as an amateur
I ended up player-coaching another nearby club that was a serious rival to the one I played for
