I Captained SA at schools and sevens levels.
I played for Western Province where my team mates included, among others, Tiaan Strauss, Corne Krige and Bobby Skinstad.
I also captained Ireland in rugby union.

Re: Who am I?
As a team I lead the All Blacks 31-9 with 20 minutes remaining then subsequently lost the match by one point at the whistle?

Re: Who am I?
Good point- he was AB capt but I was referring to the team: Quagga Barbarians but should have done it that way...

Surreal match...
Good write up on Slattery:
Fergus Slattery was playing out of season. He expected to be exhausted in 15 minutes. He was – in ten. Yet in three remarkable moves he directly contributed to the scoring of 16 points.
He performed the duties of a loose forward perfectly by getting position, making ground and building a situation so that the man he passed to was clear of the defence.
This was a most admirable appreciation of the flanker’s duties. Good hands, pace, a clear idea of where to run and when to pass – it was perfect. No All Black loose forward of the tour reached such a standard.

Slattery was perhaps the most accomplished Flanker of the modern era? No?

Whats also surreal about the quagga match is last night another SA team was leading another nz team by 30-9- with 20 mins to go. .and also lost. One point difference to the quaggas! amazing.
Though the kick that missed in front wont be ad memorable!
