The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of great current fly-half pictures on the bar. We've got Carter, Cooper, Sexton, S. Jones, Wilkinson, Priestland (in RugbyDreamer's corner ) and Steyn all in action. Graffiti's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

That's a bit weird Hughie, doesn't really give you much time to get yourself prepared for what case it's going to be.
Just watchign the tour of Britain highlights in the cycling. This stage is all in Wales and finishes off in Caerphilly. I really want Geraint Thomas to get the stage win.

Why is it that Irish team threads generate more debate than any other country's?:Glas a du wrote:Where's Stag. We need a controversial statement to get things going.
(1) there are more Irish posters
(2) there are more interesting/intricate debates
(3) the Irish could talk/write for... well, Ireland
(4) interprovincial rivalry ensures encyclopaedic discussion
(5) Sin E's stats make sure the debate never dies (at least while dissing a Munsterman)
(6) Ireland have more strength in depth than any other country

(7) they don't get rugby and talking about personnel ad nauseam is a good cover
(8) they have lots of players of a similar standard - just above average.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Anyone here know anything about Facebook? I've been getting frustrated with their Help pages trying to work out what's up. My notifications have suddenly stopped working. Does clearing the cache on your phone do that? The notifications are showing as enabled on my phone and on my account, but I'm not getting pinged with new notifications. I bet it's something obvious, but I don't know...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I've tried clearing the cache Hughie - I thought that's what might've stopped the notifications from working, but it doesn't change anything. It's just strange that the notifications are showing as enabled on both the phone and online and I'm not getting them...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
"Apparently they are (or have) changed the way the default notifications are sent, ostensibly to cut down on the amount of emails one receives. Its kicked in on mine hence not hearing anything form this or other pages that I contribute to. You can reverse it if you want I think"
"go into your account, tab on top right of page, click on 'edit friends' at the top left below 'friends is a tab which in most cases will say recently interacted, click on tab and change to 'all friends'....simples ;-)"
"Yes that's true but I was more referring to the emails you get (or can get if you want) which notifies you that someone has posted something. To alter this you need to go into email notification settings."
Maybe that'll help Cari

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Thanks Risca...tried that. It's only for email though. There's something that says "toggle text notifications". what does that mean? I notice that facebook has removed the tick box next to each option for mobiles. Does that mean it should all be automatic? I'm useless with stuff like this...

Brilliant.
Brilliant.
3. Tough on England rugby captains, tough on the causes of England rugby captains
In 2003, Martin Johnson reduced President Mary McAleese – and millions of other Irish people – to tears when he forced her to walk on the grass at Lansdowne Road. As president, Ross O’Carroll-Kelly will take no Poopie from England rugby captains, especially those with faces like inside-out arses.
On official business, he will be accompanied by a new presidential guard, who will be authorised to Taser any English rugby player who refuses to move when he’s told

Great defense here by Russia. Annoying amount of kicking in this game though it must be said. I have Russia by 6 so they'll be needing a 'any given Sunday' style speech to produce something here.

yeah Willy, I've gone for them by 5. USA seem pretty strong defensively though, might take them a while to break them down (if they can)

As for why there are so many Irish maybe we just have more free time on our hands - recession and all that. Or we have come out of our shells on this site - as its no longer "British"

That Russian 11 is quite a player. Russian back 3 in general very impressive. Why oh why do they kick so easily?
