New League - Please Signup

Okay, so with the JAV2 League closing due to lack of pure interest and maybe some rules which people didn’t get along with, we have decided to close it.

We have been speaking on the Facebook chat (we need to divert it onto here) about an idea of just starting as basic of a league as possible however this will involve more money and will involve less people hopefully as i want to run it and if I am to do so, I ideally only want people to sign up if they know they are able to commit to it.

We are still talking about ideas of course but any suggestions will be welcome. At the moment I think we discussed a draft style start being given random players with a smaller squad and making it so that we still have something to build but with more money per game/voting week with more than one voter each week however I think the feeling was to revert back to older style leagues with opinions and a score from each voter but again, this is still to be discussed.

This topic is purely to generate interest, I will give everyone until the end of Thursday (Midnight) to decide if they want in or not. As previously mentioned, we only want people who are dedicated and willing to commit otherwise there is simply no point as harsh as it sounds.

I like those ideas I think 3 tps and releases is fine.

I don't think personally there needs to be a restriction on them, did it affect the last league?

I think 3 TPs a week is too many personally

I agree with Bam. We don't want an immediate turnover of squad as people lose interest when they've got a squad they like.

2 TP's, 2 releases I'd say.

It didnt Hero but the money was extremely limited as well so I think as we are increasing money we should put a limit on it.

How about 2 TPs and 2 lawyers/releases (i.e. you get two lawyers, but don't accept 1/2 of them, you get to release instead).

How about instead of a limit of TPs by number it's by cost instead?

For me its more about slowing the turnover of numbers as much as value of player. Both are important imo

Im happy either way.

Could limit prices to double their TM Value at time of purchase until end of season.

Also voting wise if Miky made a schedule and gave out games randomly might avoid people getting in hissy fits (Hero)

With voting, we can have a broad plan, but the definite plan probably depends on numbers.

I'm going to bow out this season, appreciate the rules are being put in place for the majority but pretty much all of them are against things I personally enjoy so I know from the off its not for me.

Nothing is set in stone though. At the moment, we are just discussing.

I'm not even sure I'm going to take part tbh, so I'd ignore my preferences for starters

Discuss in depth what you dont like Hero, surely you can join a league even if you dont lile the odd rule

I just feel it's overly restrictive from the off, limits on Player increases, limits on TPs, limits on releases, limits on voting etc

I know what you're saying but it's what we used to do most of the time before the last league.

I just agree with Afro that it could be ridiculous if people just turn over the squad in a day..

Of those I think the limit on player increases is the only really vital one. I could live without limits on TPs and releases.

Not sure what the limit on voting is, but I'd just like that to be simple and not time consuming.

I think if Miky decides the rules, it's done. Then if you want in, join. If not, don't.

Hero if we compromise with 3 tps and 3 releases would you mind that? I'm trying to meet you somewhere as i don't think people were opposed to this either.

Voting we have to keep simple to keep interest, give it a season Hero and see how it goes? I'm fighting this hard because you are one of the most reliable so would be golden to have you involved man.

The voting system i think that works well will be the one from the previous league which was the no scoreline style.

I think that feedback is also important.

I think I agree with this tbh. I normally do well with the stock broker style, so no skin off my nose, but I think others have had enough of success being determined only by your ability to buy and sell

Okay so the rules are going to be...

TM – Frozen Values once the players are in the squad until the end of the game season, this will be how they stay until they exit the team - it will help if people add the TM price to the page, i will start this off when i create teams.

Draft system initially with me fixing up squads to give out to people at random, i will need to build squads manually using the similar players from TM and then i will randomly assign them to members of the league.

200 word tactics (only including subs instructions and written instructions) - £1.5m for tactics each week

Votes – This will be the old system in which you can't give a draw. It will be decided on how many people give the win for each team and the score will be decided by this as well. You must give some feedback on why you voted the way you did and you will receive a bonus of £1.5m if you vote that week. We will do 2/3 voters per week depending on how many people sign up.

Transfers – I liked the idea of 3, but it seemed more people wanted 2 initially - Limit of 2 Foreign TP's per week, must be confirmed on the transfer confirmation page

Domestic transfers allowed of course - must be confirmed on the transfer confirmation page

Loans – Long term loans only, this will be more important further into the league I say we do either half a season loans or full season only..

Lawyers – 2 lawyers per week, lets do them both 10% above the frozen TM price.

Releases – Like transfers i was going to say 3 a week but i think we should just go with 2 to keep it all even on every input/output of the teams.

Injuries – 3 Injuries picked per week at random by random.org - If the same player is pulled out of the hat for the 3rd week, it will be redrawn.

One weekly Press conference and this will award £500k for your team.

Squad limit of 25

One second - why can't you give a draw in votes??? Surely that defeats the whole object of voting if you take away one of the possible results?

Mainly because it gave an easy option and people used to sit on the fence. The leagues used to have loads of draws.

But more so, its the way the voting works - 3 people vote, each picks their winner. It worked well in the last league due to its simplicity and ease, and we weren't waiting for people to do their votes every week.

Here's the how it worked in the last league

3 managers vote on result – simple vote on who wins (no draws). Unanimous win gets +2 “goal difference”, split vote win gets +1 “goal difference”

No match scores or goalscorers.

League table decided by:
1) Number of wins
2) Goal difference
3) Results between two teams

I must admit Afro, i'm a little disappointed, you were quite vocal in rules etc and i wanted you to join but i do respect the fact that you have decided not to join.

I was hoping that this version would bring back some veterans of the league such as yourself and Nando whilst keeping the ones who were around before (reliable ones) but it looks like it might have backfired and ends up being myself, Marky and Olly..

Well, we are heading into a paradox. If you have an even number of managers, then I'll join, and subsequently so will Trebs, leaving us still with an even number. So I'll leave to take it back to an odd number, and so will Trebs.

Let's see how you do for numbers. I haven't ruled myself out entirely

BTW - the approach for the league is spot on for me, hence why I'm tempted in the first place

I hope that didn't make me sound rude, it wasn't meant like that, just geninely had a plan in my head of who i wanted in the league,. This was the plan..
