Froch V Groves on TV

Hi guys,

Do any of you know if Froch v Groves will be on Sky, Boxnation or PPV?

Errrrr im presuming its on Sky mate as its Eddie Hearn.

Cant see it being PPV as its Groves who isn't PPV worthy yet.

Its a bit much really considering there is only two fights on the undercard.

Hearn said the only way this fight could be made was if it was PPV......even though he made Froch vs Bute which was on Sky Sports 1. That fight surely would have been more worthy of PPV than Froch vs Groves.

I am looking forward to the fight but will be finding an alternative method of viewing. The PPVs are getting to common again and it will take people not buying as before for Sky to reverse the policy yet again.

If Sky can secure the Pacquiao v Rios fight as part of this PPV , you'll find that will dampen the dissatisfaction (that includes me )

Rumours are HBO are passing on this fight.


Just to clarify my beliefs and to avoid any misrepresentation, I see it that the Hearn's are trying to monopolize British boxing in a similar way they have done with darts and snooker. Looks like the BBBofC are thankfully starting to kick back at Matchrooms arrogance and self belief that they can steam roll British boxing.

With each passing day and another balls up by Eddie he is starting to lose the glamour and take on the aura of what a casual boxing fan friend of mine said to me a few months ago "Who this Eddie guy? he's like a used car salesman. He's doing a poor imitation of his father."

It also kicked off at 2 in the morning. Which is hardly ideal for either the TV viewers or those in attendance.

The Froch v Groves fight is being shown free in the US on the TV channel Awe TV.

Another coup for Fast Car Eddie.

Nah mate, I checked the BBC's "Froch vs Bute as it happened" page. gives the exact timings.

I had to check as when you said it was 2am I thought "I watched this live and would NEVER sit up that late to watch Froch fight". So it must have been earlier.

Gutted now mate. I was away for the weekend and was in a pub to watch it but sacked it off when Sky said he was not due in the ring until around 1am as I had to be up early in the morning. Would have toughed it out if I realised it was going to be that early.

Groves is NOT PPV quality and has not even proven himself worthy of that at all.

This is a complete Joke.

My work with Haye is done. Practically everybody now sees him for what he is. I was just one of the people to spot it going back to before the first cancelled fight with Wlad.

Brook seems to have been the No.1 contender for some belt or other for the last 5 years yet he's still faffing about.


Quigg I see as a good prospect one of the best in the UK. Similar level to Frampton.


For the record my personal view is that Frank is pretty odious but in saying that the metaphorical sewer he inhabits is the same place that the Hearns sleep and do their business. These guys grew up poor kids within a stones throw of each other and fought their way out using the same tactics. Barry is smoother and has better at PR but he is essentially the same animal as Warren.

But some fighters are deemed worthy of PPV status...........

and it's them that sell the fight apparently........

Because the sporting fan is completely ignorant about Boxing.......They think Froch is a superstar.......Not the 2nd best fighter in the "recent" jr light heavyweight division..

The only true measure of whether it's PPV worthy is how much it sells, considering it involves two British fighters I think it will do quite well. I would prefer it to be on standard sky sports but Hearn has to pay them somehow and this is the most sensible way.

How many companies have the Hearns' collapsed in order to avoid paying their fighters?

Because Frank has just done it again I believe. Quite why any boxer would go with him I've no idea - when you're job involves trying to stop another guy rendering you unconscious the most important thing I'd look for is realistic guarantee of getting paid!!
