Right culture fans, after a short mid-season break we are back with round 5 of 606v2's bestest ever tournament.  Before we move on to the next round, lets wrap up the movers and shakers from round 4 which was the greatest TV comedy character since the year 2000.

TopHat was the big winner with Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory pulling in the most votes.  Possibly surprising given some of the competition but it gives TopHat his debut as a round winner and takes him soaring into, erm, mid-table.  Michaels picks up second place in round 4 with the ever popular David Brent whilst Hero grabs another fist full of points with one of my votes, Brian Potter.  This takes the ultra-consistent Hero to the top of the league table.  Adam is clinging on to a champions league spot in fourth which has got to hurt, seeing as his boyfriend is sitting top of the pile.  Poor round for The Womble whose pick of Jay Pritchett came in last.  Julius is still bringing up the rear, highlighting the old adage that 606v2 does indeed mirror life.

Hero (Brian Potter): (10) 36
compelling & rich (Tyrion Lannister): (5) 33
seanmichaels (David Brent): (11) 29
Adam (Barney Stinson): (8) 27

TopHat (Sheldon Cooper): (12) 22
The Womble (Jay Pritchett): (3) 21
superflyweight (Big Keith): (4) 20
rowley (Larry David): (7) 19
Union (Papa Lazarou): (6) 19

JuliusHMarx (Matt Le Blanc): (4) 10

Round 6 swings (see what I did there?) back to music, and the question is The best song ever with 3 or more words in the title.  Pretty simple, I'm sure even you lot don't need it explaining.  Please can you send more than one choice in case your first pick is taken.  I will always let you know if you don't get your number one pick.

Please see the poll for round 5 and remember, it is open for the whole forum to vote

A tough round again, with some excellent choices. There are a few I have read, a few I feel I should have read, and a few I have no interest in reading.

I have gone with The World According to Garp and Macbeth. Garp is just an amazing book and I am glad someone picked it. The chain of events are so ridiculous yet it is written with such brilliance that it all comes together. It’s witty, moving, profound and sad in equal measures. Awesome book.

Macbeth is about the easiest Shakespeare book to follow, aside from Romeo and Juliet, and is such a great story it gets my second vote. It has witches, fights, betrayal, guilt, love, ambition, paranoia, madness, death. It could have been written about me.....

Went for The Great Gatsby (possibly the most perfectly written book ever though a bit lacking in depth of characters & story) and Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn (one of the two funniest characters I've read about (along with Holden Caulfield) although set in a depressing era).

Went for Huckleberry Finn as it was on telly when I was young and I'm pretty sure I enjoyed it. He was always painting a fence for some reason? Other one was Schindler's list, again saw it on the telly and it was a half decent watch.

I nearly went for the Count of Monte Cristo as I recently took a boat out to the island where the story was set. Just off Marseille it is, some lovely quiet coves there to drop anchor and chill, can heartily recommend a visit.

Went with Hamlet, which is a superb piece of work, and Winnie the Pooh, which I spent a decent part of my childhood with. Some brilliant works on the list, though not sure how "A Christmas Carol" qualifies...

Pretty sure it's Winnie the Pooh though (not a vote, a correction).

Macbeth and Gulliver's Travels for me. MacBeth is the only Shakespeare play I can genuinely say I've enjoyed - also helps that Polanski's film version has Lady Macbeth showing her Gert Stonkers in all of their technicolor glory. Read Gulliver because thought it was one o those books that everyone should read - and it really is. Very funny book and very enjoyable.

I'd never heard of Horace by Monty Python, but it's really good to see the votes so evenly spread out. This is the kind of round I'd quite like 12 votes to cast.

I think it's because everyone read Macbeth at school. I don't know many people who have read Huckleberry Finn or Gulliver's Travels, although both should really be standard reading at school.

Read Lord of the Rings, Lord of the Flies, Birdsong, Awaydays, something by Tony Parsons and 4 or 5 of the Wheel of Time books. Also a good book called Monsoon by Wilbur Smith (?). Apart from that not a lot. I like reading my Mower spares catalogue and the ECB pitch guidance handbook.

I think I had to read Macbeth at school or it may have been Midsummer Nights Dream? I'd be scoring in double figures on University Challenge every week if I'd read more tripe like that.

Have you ever read?
Read Lord of the Rings, Lord of the Flies, Birdsong, Awaydays, something by Tony Parsons and 4 or 5 of the Wheel of Time books. Also a good book called Monsoon by Wilbur Smith (?). Apart from that not a lot. I like reading my Mower spares catalogue and the ECB pitch guidance handbook.

I think I had to read Macbeth at school or it may have been Midsummer Nights Dream? I'd be scoring in double figures on University Challenge every week if I'd read more tripe like that.
Birdsong is brilliant.

Mower spares catalogue sounds a great read.

You forgot Razzle, Sean.

Literature includes plays
Indeed.

Yeah, but that was before my selection did poorly.

Not really a porn man although I had to change gear after reading the cuff chapter in Birdsong.

If I'd selected Moby Dick would I have got double points for having 2 names in the title?

If I hadn't already voted for your choice, then maybe I would consider it.

Is it not enough that I voted for it?
