Just read that one of our greatest All Blacks, and probably our greatest coach (undefeated) passed away at the age of 92.

Cheers Fred for addressing so much to the All Black legacy. You were one of the very best.

In the South Island theres a little town called Oamaru,Two All Black captains were born there,Fred Allen and Richie McCaw.

Farewell Sir Fred, your legend will live on. Watching the tribute yesterday, you just had to marvel at some of his yarns and experiences, especially against our old foe SA. I recall an interview on close up with him last year, boy did he have a steely glint in his eye still. Love that photo of what looks like, sir Fred giving McCaw a rark up

A very sad event another of the legends gone very few of 1945-6 Kiwi side survive now.Bob Scott an even greater Legend as a player still survives I think
but he is in his 91-2 too.God look after you Sir Fred,you`ll meet JB[Jonny Smith] and play again for that heavenly 15.R.I.P FRED THE NEEDLE,great player,coach,man,Rugby needs more like you.
