First topic message reminder :


I Captained SA at schools and sevens levels.

I played for Western Province where my team mates included, among others, Tiaan Strauss, Corne Krige and Bobby Skinstad.

I also captained Ireland in rugby union.

I have also played for Ulster and Munster.

I represented Scotland at various age groups

Played over 100 games for Leeds

Before moving on to coach Leeds

Both born in NZ both played for NZ but as well as that one played for Samoa and the other played for Japan

Actually I'm not sure Ben Franks made the bench for the semi - Afoa might have gotten the nod. He was born in Melbourne though.

Stephen Bachop never played an RWC semi-final either - Samoa topped out in the quarters in 91, he'd been dropped in favour of Mehrtens in 95 and missed the RWC and Samoa didn't make the 99 semis (he played against Japan and Graeme in pool play).

Graeme played in the 91 and 95 RWC semis.

I know of a player who had a successful club stint in Europe and played in the Super 12 and had a boxing match against a team mate of his (both of them played in a team that defeated Australia).

Was sure it was him. Not spencer though.

No he's saying no other RU internationals from his country have been professional league players in another. In which case, have any other Ireland players switched to league in England over the past 100 years?

An international Rugby player my faith prevented me from playing on a Sunday, but not from winning an Olympic gold medal.

He did he played for Great Britain in league. Got I think 5-6 caps for Ireland in union and was at the 2007 RWC in France. He also played 7s internationally for Ireland too. He also played internationally for Ireland in Rugby League.
