Not wishing to start an argument, but really feel as if that stat is a measure of Greg Norman's achievement. There but for the grace of Greg quite a few times.

I did wonder about some of the older ones (pre Bobby Jones and the Masters) and how many runner ups they had e.g. Braid, Taylor, old Tom, young Tom, Wille Park etc

BTW, not that it matters, but in that link I found they're called Button with an 'o', but in your post Doon you call them Butten and saw some other links where they appear as Butten... Not sure what's the correct spelling...

Seems there were two groups: Tommy Horton and 3 others, followed later by Barnes and three more. Eight in all.

I have no idea about this but asked oldman Mav and he seemed to think some guy called Tony Martin was one how accurate that is I don't know!

Mike Ingham was the one I could not remember.

He did a little Senior Tour commentary, probably for ESPN, when arthritis started to get the better of him, sounded a touch arrogant on the air.

He had long orange tees with his name on which he left on the tees, he was all about me, complete pratt.

It may not have reached you but the Welsh and English Government are proposing a saturated fat food tax, thought you might want to be aware of that in any dealings with SR.
Scotland, naturally, will not support the proposed new tax.

I live in a very localvore State and City and Michael Pollian is virtually our Patron Saint, so am very aware of foods, where they come from, and whether they might be good for you.
I do my share by concentrating on local beer, and sometimes wine!

It's very difficult though, isn't it? Advertising is so insidious, and famers here are subsidised to produce corn products, oil-based products, that are marketed to death and have little or no nutritional value. It's an absolute racket and the very wise words are wasted on people, especially children and the poorest families, who just want to fill themselves up and get addicted on sugar, salt, and are five easy steps to inactivity and obesity.

But we have our first winter veggies so we're all set. Too bad half the population wouldn't recognise a turnip or a brussel sprout if they saw it, let alone eat it. Tragic really.

And don't let's start on Coke and Pepsi . . . . . .
