Saunders Stripped of WBO middleweight title

WBO middleweight champion failed VADA drugs test. Fight with Andrade to be cancelled and Saunders to be stripped of title

The question is whether you think stimulants should or shouldn’t be legal out of competition

Stimulants give untold endurance so obviously there’s no place for them in competition


Trace amounts of stimulants are very good for training and good for the brain chemistry but in higher quantities dangerous for the heart and lead to muscle loss


Some claim trace amounts(which I doubt) can aid in muscle gain so I guess that’s the grey area

Dead against ped’s personally but seeing as they’re so rife just trying to keep an open mind

How about if you’re caught with stimulants post fight blood test then you should get the book thrown at you?

If they only take four days to clear your system there can be no excuses

This substance is found in otc nasal decongestant and obviously many pre workouts don’t see how you can cancel the fight. The number of fighters who use stimulants too

Has he actually been stripped and the fight cancelled? I can't find a source to confirm this. According to Eddie Hearn Andarade will still fight for the title if the Massacheusettes commisson ban Saunders.

He's still allowed fight in October according to Warren. He tested positive but as it's out of competition it's allowed, absolute joke. So the only way he'd have got banned was if he tested positive the day of the fight.

Apparently that is the WADA ruling and Saunders was tested by VADA. Not really sure what to make of it or how much of a benefit it is to a fighter outside of fight day or even on fight day. Apparently its in over the counter products and we don't know if Saunders was using an over the counter remedy or not.

Massachusetts athletic commission refused to license Saunders for the bout with Andrade. Andrade will fight the WBO #2 for vacant belt

The average person if tested right now would fail the stimulants test.  Certainly if you are taking supplementary vitamins & minerals and various energy drinks.  Various medications also. Despite this the average person is incapable of lasting beyond a few seconds in a professional boxing ring.
