Post by hazharrison Mon 06 Oct 2014, 5:03 pm

Here are the fighters who've made the ballot:
- Donald Curry
- Naseem Hamed
- Santos Laciar
- Miguel “Happy” Lora
- Henry Maske
- Darius Michalczewski
- Sven Ottke
- Samuel Serrano
- Wilfredo Vazquez
- Hilario Zapata.
- Paulie Ayala
- Nigel Benn
- Riddick Bowe
- Chris Eubank
- Leo Gamez
- Genaro Hernandez
- Julian Jackson
- Rocky Lockridge
- James “Buddy” McGirt
- Ray Mancini
- Sung-Kil Moon
- Michael Moorer
- Orzubek “Gussie” Nazarov
- Vinny Pazienza
- Lupe Pintor
- Gilberto Roman
- Gianfranco Rosi
- Ratanapol Sor Vorapin
- Meldrick Taylor
- Fernando Vargas

I'm gonna have a guess that Hamed, Bowe and Taylor make it in 2015.

Absolutely scandalous how Curry hasn't made it.....

If anybody wants to make a case for Hamed, Bowe and Taylor before him please try..

Though Haz is right...........Those three will be ahead of him..

I'm not sure if Hamed is getting in given its a bit of a popularity contest.

Taylor and Bowe seem shoe in's with the third place up for grabs.

There's been a fair bit of debate amongst voters over Hamed. I think there'll be a bit of a movement this year to vote him in.

Would love to see Benn get the nod but I doubt it.

Naz is 50/50 for me.

Both before Curry tho.

If Ottke makes it I will laugh and cry.

Given its a hall of fame rather than a roll all for best fighters, which they have proved over the years with some appalling inclusions and omissions, it's anyone's guess.

In addition to the names mentioned I'd throw Jackson in there as worth a shout.

Hamed is probably the most deserving on both counts Milky and I still don't think he deserves to be in there, having an induction quota each year means you end up with a load of relative trash in there.

Why are 90% of those names even being considered?

Hamed, Eubank and Benn were the first UK fighters I took notice of. I was a huge fan of Eubank when I was little. Looking back it's hard to pinpoint why I preferred him over Benn's all action style. Probably the eccentricity and the fact he really wound everyone up.

Out of interest, has anyone made the pilgrimage to Canastota? Calzaghe was being inducted when I was in NY after the Cotto Martinez fight but I didn't have enough time and there was too much to do in New York to venture out to the sticks. Would have loved to have been able to fit it in though.

Naz should undoubtedly be included at some point, this year or not. Absolutely teared through all comers apart from you know who, with each fight being more one sided than a german judge.

I wouldn't call the Kelley fight one sided. Should still be in though without a doubt.

I find it difficult to believe Curry had over 400 amateur fights when he turned pro at 19.

The fact Donald Curry hasn't already been inducted is appalling. He should definitely be one of the three, but I doubt he will.

Nigel Benn needs to be inducted aswell.

I agree...Must be pretty sobering for the Don to see Zaragoza and Mcguigan in there already....

Mcguigan who was Champ for one year...Not even the best Champion in his division and beat a tired old supposed-great in Pedroza....

Starling twice, Mccrory, Jones......Nine defences over nearly four years and unified champion......

Even went on to win the WBC Jr midd crown.....

Yep sounds about right..

Complete and utter bollox................and Don If you do get invited tell them to get stuffed !!

Hamed got beat once and that was that, he lost his bottle. Should he be in? Probably. But if anything has held him back it must be that. After all, there's no shame in losing to Barrera and we'll always be left wondering what could have been.
