Khan v Judah a no-no: GBP rejects Judah's demand of 50/50 split. Empty Khan v Judah a no-no: GBP rejects Judah's demand of 50/50 split.

Post by BALTIMORA Sat 21 May 2011, 11:40 am

Article from boxingscene:

http://www.boxingscene.com/khan-vs-judah-hits-wall-financial-dispute-over-split--39415

Is this Golden Boy making the call, or is this situation a repeat of the stumbling blocks seen in previous negotiations with Maidana, McCloskey, Peterson and Bradley?

Would Judah be the best choice for Khan if he wants the clear upper hand in any future negotiations with Bradley?

Is Khan using this excuse that his potential opponents are greedy to avoid fighters while claiming otherwise?

We hear people talk of how Khan's the bigger draw, and this has been true in the past, but with Judah's name recognition surpassing that of Khan does Khan have a leg to stand on this time? Judah, while past his peak, is still a formidable opponent, with greater experience than Khan, having fought more opponents of a higher level than Khan has. He's recently demonstrated something of a resurgence and is also a belt-holder, so is he out of order in asking for a 50/50 split, or is Khan's greed hampering his career?

Khan is a bigger draw, Judah is asking for 50/50 because he knows he will get a beat down from Amir.

First Bradley now Judah. Who next will duck Khan.

How is Khan the bigger draw? Khan seems to be establishing something of a reputation for pushing opponents away from the negotiating table through his frugal disposition.

All the messing about is getting tiresome (not just Khan, they are all at it.)

If Khans people price everyone decent out of contention (again) and end up with some can who is happy just to be there I will be annoyed.

Maybe its just bickering and they will get a good name in the end.

More people want to watch his fights.

He generates more money.

Khan desperately needs to get rid of his hangers on, he has become the family business, and its no good for his boxing career

When Khan is offering people there biggest payday and they still don't take, it plain to see it is there fault.

Sorry, I forgot that Khan falls into your insane bias category. Yes Khans people are blameless and its everyone else's fault. Im glad you cleared that up for us D4.

You see ducking everywhere. There are many reasons for a fight not taking place - and ducking isn't always the one.

Did RJJ duck D-Mich? Or vice versa?

Yeah Khan was being unreasonable offering $1.4m and 50% of Khan's UK PPV money to a guy who can't fill out small arenas and no one wants to watch. 🤦

How is that so, sycophant, why cant Khan accept the terms for Judah that you claim he offered Bradley, If Khan is the one drawing the money, as you again claim, then surely his pot wont change that much.

When there is no valid reason to take the fight then yes it is a duck.

Bradley said I want more money, Khan incresed the offer by 50% Bradley still said no. An obvious duck. What makes it worst is all the talk before.

Ive already thanked you for giving us the definitive answer D4, what more do you want?

Given your intimate knowledge of all contract negotiations and your complete impartiality, I think we can put this discussion to bed.

Exactly. Echoes of Naz and Tyson. Khan seems to be surrounded by people who don't know boxing and are trying to run his career like they'd run a family fruit & veg stall. He needs to strip away the hangers-on and take his head out of the clouds. His reputation had been improving since Prescott (barring his last fight), but this recurring theme of offering poor contract splits are becoming a bit of an albatross around Khan's neck.

Oh, and D4-what's this?:

Why should he get all the UK PPV money he doesn't do great numbers over here Judahs name alone would enhance sales.

This is pretty poor from GBP Judah is a bigger name than Khan in America 50/50 is fair.
If Khan was to beat Judah it would be great for his name and marketability in America.

This is starting to make Khan look very poor and I think they are ducking Judah they know he won't accept anything less than a 50/50 split and he shouldn't either.

Khan is a mug, he thinks he is some sort of box office mega star when in reality he has a modest following. Also, he is surrounded by amateurs and chavs who know nothing about business.

Look at the history: his entourage starting a fight at the paulie weigh in. Trying to price maidana out of a fight until the WBA ordered it. The financial dispute with Ariza and allegedly stealing paperwork from him, now it seems he is going back cap in hand. Pricing peterson out of a fight. Pricing McCloskey out, then going back to him, then hawking the fight to PrimeTime when Sky quite rightly said it wasnt a PPV bill - biting the hand that feeds you.

Khan has never fought on PPV in america and does not do big PPV numbers in the UK - especially since Prescott. He is not a huge attraction and is only a good fighter, not a special one. He's also not an exciting fighter - the maidana fight was exciting because maidana took khan out of his comfort zone and almost Ko'd him.

Judah is a much bigger name in the states, he is also a fellow title holder at 140lb. 50/50 is fair, who the hell does khan think he is trying to bully opponents in negotiation - manny pacquiao??

Personally i dont want to see him fight Judah anyway. Judah may have had a mini resurgance but his best days are behind him Likewise morales. Khan should fight either Guerrero, maidana II or move up to 147 and fight ortiz.
