Ok - here goes for the last time (in the league) this season.

Does Toonie go for it with all guns blazing ? Or does he settle for third and a likely trip to Dublin - where we have never won but should have a few weeks ago due to bizarre ref decisions - and rest players for the play offs ?

Where he hasn't of course listened to me is with the rest of his team selection. I'd have gone full strength, whereas this is more mix and match, with 5 key players on the bench in Grant, Strauss, Matawalu, Maitland and Hogg.

He's mixed and matched a fair bit during the season though and I've disagreed with a few selections (Morrison last time out for example). In most cases I've been proved wrong and they have played brilliantly. I just hope Jackson has one of his good games.

Would have been nice to see Campbell get a send off match, but Jedi looks like the lock cover.

Connaught will be fired up for this game. It will be tough to swallow if Glasgow slip up here and Leinster or Ulster lose.

That's a pretty strong Connacht side as well.

Big risk from Toonie, momentum is really important at this stage. Glasgow will need to start well and ensure a minimal penalty count to take Parks out of the equation. Barclay and Wilson need to get on his case. He'll be up for this one, no doubt about that,

Quite happy with the team. Guys like Murchie and Seymour have not played in a couple of months. So it gives them game time, should we need them in the coming weeks.

Well for Seymour I'm pleased because he's played generally pretty well this season, and I'd like him to cover Maitland's wing in the summer.

I suppose Murchie has performed well too (better than Hogg in the early parts of the season), but I just can't see him as more than a little bit average.

Still injured, GC, along with Fusaro, Dunbar, Cusiter and one or two others - not too bad at the end of what's been an attritional season

I love Galway but the rain has been horizontal every time I've been there.

If we aren't at least three tries to the good with half an hour left, Toonie needs to get the big boys in there straight away. It would be horrendous if Desperate kicks his old mothership out of a home semi spot and Niko gets stuck in the mud.

If they are going to have 4 coaches for the lions they should have one from each nation to cut out the horrible bias of this years selection. More of a reason to really bring on Scottish coaches and hope Toonie continues to develop well. I get the impression he has resigned himself to an away semi. Not sure I agree with this, we have a strong enough squad to properly have a go for the last two games and you don't want to lose too much continuity at this stage by changing the team too much. Having said that he's probably still a little scarred from the Scarlets performance (i am after watching it!) which has likely influenced his approach. I really hope we get into the final, will be what the team deserve and show that we are making some progress as a nation.

Before the squad was announced it was clear that a lot of Scots had got way ahead of themselves with their selections.Winning the 1872 cup or whatever it is called did not impress the Lions selectors for some reason.I predicted three Scots would get in but what do I know?Emulate the Ospreys and Wales and you will find that more of your players will be selected next time.

Gents not everyone will agree about the selections and the selection criteria Gatland set out for himself, you are entitled to give your opinions but it is really immature to carry on like little immature children making snide and snarky comments.

If wee Dunky had his kicking boots on Glasgow would have put a Munster type score line of 50+ on the Ospreys...

Also must be said the much vaunted Ospreys pack didn't look anything special. Jones & Grant managed to nullify each other in the scrum. Although Grant came out on top courtesy of that nice brace of tries. In the second row AWJ & the over-hyped Evans struggled, the lineout for the Ospreys was a real mess. And yes Tipuric was classy, but Barclay was better on the night.

With it being Johnny O'Connor, Adrian Flavin last games for Connacht before retiring, Elwoods last in charge, and a Connacht win would make it Connachts best ever season and its at home, last game of the season.
Glasgow putting out a weaker team to save players for the playoffs.

I can only see a Connacht win here.

if Glasgow put out thier strongest team I would put it 50/50 maybe slightly Glasgow, but with the team they named, I think Connacht will just do it.

Intrestingly for those calling for the 6,6,8 for H-cup, would mean Connacht would qualify on thier own merit, whereas they need Leinster to win the Almin, have always said they have the hardest method of qualifying out of any team in Europe, and are prob the only Pro 12 team that would prefer top 8 as it makes it easier for them to qualify (in thier own right).

See, this the type of statements that really annoys me about the majority of welsh fans on here. I live in Wales and can safely say, the majority of welsh fans I spoke to in the 6n this year were a great bunch and without me even speaking about it, saw my Scotland jersey and told me that Scotland should have a lot of lions this year. I think a lot of welsh fans on here need to try and emulate other nations fans and be a little more considerate. It reflects badly on your country. Fortunately, I've lived in Wales for over 3 years now and know its a great place to live and visit, especially on rugby days. Just stop kicking Scottish fans down all the time, please boxing

Kellock is a fine club player, and seemingly a passionate block. He shouts alot on the pitch, and is an able lineout operator.

However from a Lions perspective, it would need about 20 locks ahead of him to get injured before he'd tour.....

Thanks for your answer. I think I agree about the comparison with Borthwick, who is similarly under regarded- interesting to see W Greenwood calling for his return to England colours-but I still believe that Kellock is in better form than POC, AWJ and Ianto Evans. It will be interesting to see if the Glasgow front five are noticeably better tonight or are less driven.
p.s. Hines is to rugby what Slobodan Milosevic is to international human rights.
