An interesting article. Hore has pleaded for a change to the rugby season before.

Given the ongoing discussions aboput the format and qualification for the Heineken Cup, it's about time that the Rabo teams that qualify for the HC was changed -- to just the top 6, regardless of country. That might help to improve match intensity week to week. That should be introduced next season. Given the state of all the Euro economies, financial pressures may well mean that the WRU can only affiord to fund two Welsh regions in the HC anyway (with an increased level of funding to compete -- which will mean fewer regions in the HC).
