Imagine that FIFA decided that we had to compete as Team GB in the World Cup. I want you to select a Team GB squad, which is a hybrid of World Cup and Olympic requirements.

You will select a 23 man squad to compete for Team GB at Brazil 2014. That team must be made up of U23s at the time of the tournament (U23 = born on or after 1st June 1991), with 3 over-age players allowed.

Your squad must contain a minimum of 3 players from each of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

You will then select a starting XI from that squad, which in turn must include 1 player from each national association.

I want you to report to me your squad, your starting XI and a set of tactics to suit that team. I would also like you to select a manager and assistant.

You should provide details on why you chose those particular overage players, and also why you chose your manager and assistant. Please submit on this page by 3pm on Friday 3rd August

Well I have had a thought about the manager situation and I think we should look for a big big name with international experience or an up and coming manager like Karl Robinson etc

well most wouldn't have played together before to need a techincal manager like wenger/hiddink/avb etc

How about Wenger then? Arguably his Arsenal career could be done, and he would want a less hectic schedule with a international side. Has great experience with young players, and could bring back Pat Rice as well!!!

i think we would be better off with gus hiddink he moves about alot so should be out of a job by 2014

Fair enough I am happy to go with that mate! Assistant wise who could we go for? An player who is playing now but will be retired by 2014? Becks, Giggs etc

could do with them tbh gary neville/david weir could be a decent option aswell

Morning all, I won't be around till Friday properly which is my next day off work. I like Gary Neville as assistant manager, but not sure on Hiddink, I think it should be a British manager or someone like Wenger who has a lot of experience in the game.

well we can always give the job to harry in exchange for a russian bank account

See told you Wenger was the way to go, and lets face it by then Arsenal would have gone about 50 billion years without a trophy so he will be sacked anyway

So we can tempt him with young players, he loves young players

Those are three guys - Phillips is just over the age limit (according to Wiki)

We don't need him so to speak, but he will be one of the best, if not the best GK in the world at that point. Look at all the great teams, you gotta have a great GK like Buffon or Casillas

true but we have to get a decent player in the xi for each country the only way we can do that is use the 3 overage players on scotland NI/Wales
