Fed keeping himself busy, Mahut coming up with some nice shots from time to time.

It looks like a titanic battle between Wawrinka and Simon is drawing to a close, with Simon ahead in the fourth by a break, and two sets to one up 5-7 7-6 7-6

Mahut takes the second set. Good hold from him and some great points when needed to push.

Another Federer dip lets Mahut hang around and win the second set.

If Roger is looking to get into the second week, this is simply not good enough.

From being 3-2 ahead with a break in hand, Simon loses the next three games, including a double break to go behind 5-3 in the fourth. What happened? This match looks like it will be heading into a fifth set.

I'm enjoying this fight from Mahut and I like the guy a lot...

I think the way he's coming in a lot is interesting and worked a few times, although he has got easily passed too...

Is it the sort of thing that can work for him against Fed?

Simon loses the fourth 6-3, what a turnaround from Wawrinka, what a plonker from Simon ... or maybe he is injured or something.

Fed breaks 2:1, rushing all points to finish quickly and making silly mistakes.

Federer has the break against Mahut in the third set. A four sets victory for the maestro, surely?

Nobody want to win that match it seems...

Simon was serving for set in set 1 at 5-3, got broken twice to lose set 5-7.

Stan got early break in second only to relinquish it quickly and lost the set in tiebreak.

Simon got early break in third bug again lost adv while serving for the set but somehow won it in tiebreak.

Now he got early break in 4th only to lose it 6-3.

Del Po two sets up against Chilli-bang....

Fed looks under-cooked for Rolad Garros, certainly not playing anywhere near his best, no idea whether he is not warmed up properly, or the slowness of the court bothering him a lot or he is not that much interested to pay the earlier rounds.

Goffin looks like a little shool kid who's come out to play with his PE kit on

Wawrinka serving for the match with a double break in the fifth. Simon had his chances but pineapple frittered them all away.

Just seen scenes from the Goffin match. Well done that young man and the reaction spoke volumes. Certainly moment of the tournament for me.

David Goffin is now through to the fourth round - he was a lucky loser from the qualifiers (he lost in the final round of qualifier). He is 21 years old - so could this be his break-through tournament, or will he disappear without trace.
