Tua v Barrett Empty Tua v Barrett

Post by rapidringsroad Fri 02 Dec 2011, 2:41 am

For anyone who maybe interested it was mentioned on New Zealand news last night that a blood sample taken from Monte Barrett after his recent defeat of David Tua shows that he had taken a banned substance. What happens now? Will the result be overturned? and will Tua get back the belt he lost to Barrett?

"American Monte Barrett tested positive for methylhex-anemine following the August fight, according to paperwork seen by 3News,"

The only people reporting this seem to be in New Zealand with a call for a third fight. Monte obviously denies it saying they would not have let him leave the country with the belts if he had failed a urine test. I expect this to just go away over a few days, but thanks for the heads up.

Terry Dunstan's also been banned for a couple of years.

The fight featured in Week 7 of the first season of the UCPL.

I think everybody (without exception) picked Tua to win.

I'm not changing the results though.

Union, you shouldn't have reminded everyone. A couple of the more arguementative ones will be raising a petition as we write

While this is obviously very naughty of Monte if indeed true, Tua was once again poor and needs to also focus on Why.
