Swap manny and Floyd and it's probably spot on.

Manny's activity and not either retiring or being dethroned put him ahead of Floyd in my opinion. I'd also have Froch ahead of Ward, his resume has more depth. I'm not sure if it's fair to place Khan ahead of Bradley just yet either. Bradley's last fight was against the unbeaten division #2 (at the time) and only politics have kept him inactive. He never should've been stripped of the WBC.

Got what he deserved I am afraid with a blatant duck...Would not have in the top 10 or Khan yet...Manny has had 3 farce fights in a row might as well of been inactive.

Mayweather has faced top 10 opponents in the last 3 fights against Ortiz, Marquez and Mosley.

i'd have a very similar list

1. Pacquiao
2.Mayweather
3. Donaire
4. Martinez
5. Marquez
6. W.Klitschko
7. Gamboa
8. Bradley
9. Froch
10. Ward

donaire will surely be number 1 in a few years, i've got nishioka in my top 15 so if he beats him he'll be top 3 for sure andas he walks around at 140ish, he's got the potential to fight guys like gamboa

Mayweather has and always will be number one...Maybe Pacquiao should take the test...wonder what he is hiding.

Ortiz and Mosley more credible than anything Pacquiao has faced since 2009.

not disputing that... but if floyd wants to be number 1 again then he has to hope manny loses or he beats manny or manny retires.

Mayweather was always number one before Manny...He just fought the leftovers...3 farce fights in a row means Pacquiao is lucky to be number 2.

Floyd retired and didn't fight for ages, allowing Manny to take him over, he has a stronger CV than Floyd anyway, even though the last 3 fights of Manny have been shameful. Manny has had 8 fights in the time that Floyd has had his 3 however, and oustrips him by a mile...

However if Floyd didn't retire he would never have lost his P4P number 1 title.

I'd have Bernard Hopkins and Pongsaklek Wonjongkam in place of Khan and Bradley. Although a good list nonetheless...

In addition isn't Vitali a better fighter than Wlad?

Not been on the same run and Wlad has fought higher opponents in recent times, Vitali had better fighters, but his retirement meant that Wlad took over and hasn't been knocked off, almost in a similar way to Manny Floyd.

Im not sure Vitali is the better fighter at present. Certainly not as clear as it was 5 years ago anyway. At best its close, but Wlads unifications and higher competition deserve him to nudge in front. In an all time sense I will always consder Vitali the better of the two but right at this moment I might lean towards Wlad overall.

Same, I think Vitali is beatable right now, it seems like if you can keep him working for every minute of a round I reckon you could get him to gas, just get a feeling.

Wladimir's record since 2008:

Win 56–3 David Haye UD
Win 55–3 Samuel Peter KO
Win 54–3 Eddie ChambersKO
Win 53–3 Ruslan Chagaev RTD
Win 52–3 Hasim Rahman TKO
Win 51–3 Tony Thompson KO
Win 50–3 Sultan Ibragimov UD

Vitali's record since 2008:

Win 43–2 Tomasz Adamek KO
Win 42–2 Odlanier Solis KO
Win 41–2 Shannon Briggs UD
Win 40–2 Albert Sosnowski KO
Win 39–2 Kevin Johnson UD
Win 38–2 Chris Arreola RTD
Win 37–2 Juan Carlos GómezTKO
Win 36–2 Samuel Peter RTD

Vitali's record over the past 4 years is comparable to Wladmir's. Ignoring titles, as they won't fight each other, on a P4P basis I'd give Vitali the edge in current terms.

Would give the edge to Wladimir, but fact is, Wladimir was the main guy and think that he needs to lose in order to lose the #1 tag.

Not sure I agree there. Wlads record is better by a bit for me. Also includes 2 unification fights.

In pound for pound terms as too who is actually better, I would argue too much over one above the other. But with Vitali getting into the very old territory and Wlad has probably never been better I just think as it stands now Wlad is the faster and better all round of the two. Vitali may retain the durabilty advantage but I would see him as second best in most other areas now.

They're both slightly vulnerable now, Vitali's could possibly gas after midway with a high tempo and Wlad's slightly suspect chin. Problem is, no one there to beat them.

Yeah I just feel Wlad has improved alot since his earlier days and getting to him now is such a difficult task due to how he controls range and distance.

His losses to Brewster and Purrity were just down to exhaustion more than anything else. He seems much fitter and stronger now and just better in almost every department. I dont think his chin is actually as glass as people think I just think when hes tired his defence would go leaving him wide open.

I don't like the idea that a fighter has to lose in order to stop being classed as number 1. I do think Wlad is the man at the moment but there isn't much between him and Vitali so for me if Vitali were to beat consistently better opposition than Wlad I'd have no trouble putting him at the top of the list. The same with the top of the P4P list, If Floyd and Manny keep fighting guys no hopers then I'll have no trouble putting someone up there who is beating better competition on a regular basis.

I actually think that Donaire is probably the best fighter on the planet at the moment based on his speed, power and skill set but he doesn't yet have the resume to prove it. He'll do the same to anyone at Bantamweight that he did to Montiel if they come forward at him and I'd probably back him to do the same to the guys at Super Bantam as well. There is a lot of good fights to be made around those weights so I hope he doesn't move up to fast just for a big payday and finds his power doesn't carry as far as Feather or Super Featherweight.

Recent opposition. Marquez certainly ranks higher as an ATG for me, but recent wins aren't on his side. All opinion, of course.

I'd agree. For me I think Montiel is a better win than anything Marquez has recently. Also if you go a bit further back Darchinyan is a great win as well. Marquez best result in that time is a close loss to Manny.

He's not been as active as he should have been but imo he's still the third best around. I would maybe push Donaire above him but not Martinez.

Besides - a guy who started at flyweight and is now welterweight champ is the very definition of p4p?

I despair. Where's facepalm when you want it.

Besides - a guy who started at flyweight and is now welterweight champ is the very definition of p4p?

oxy... thats just plain silly that guys name doesnt end in mayweather!

Beat a past his best Calderon because his style matched up well. Not a P4P fighter, certainly not as high as 6.

Their 2nd fight Calderon was past it the first time round Calderon wasn't as past it as it is made out. His win over Canchila was a very good win.

Rios and Gamboa have both had better wins. The best win Canchila has is...Segura.

They don't have better wins than Seguras first win over Calderon.

A much better depth of wins though, they both have a half dozen highly ranked wins. I do think at his best Calderon could have kept away for 12 though, but it is a very good win nonetheless. I think you need to prove you can do it consistently for P4P ranking though.

It's tough at the lower weights. Guys like Segura are reluctant to go to Asia in fear they will get screwed and they don't make enough money to bring guys like Wonjongkam or Kameda (when he was lower) over to the States.

They guys make better money in Asia than they would in the States. Kameda has the same problem just now. He had to knock back a place in that bantamweight tournament because the money was so poor compared to what he can earn in Japan.

It shouldn't allow for circumstance in my opinion. His record has obvious highlights but isn't that deep in my opinion, and he doesn't do anything special.

I was probably to generous putting him above Wonjongkam but I do feel he is P4P top 10. Gamboa, Khan or Rios may have more recognisable names on their record but I'm not sure they have better.
