Buck up BBC Sport Empty Buck up BBC Sport

The Surrey county page in the BBC Sport cricket section has a big smiling picture of Arul Suppiah and 'latest news' that Surrey have lost to Somerset in the T20. The Glamorgan page, meanwhile, has details of their defeat against Surrey the day after the Somerset/Surrey game.

Is it BBC policy only to show details of a County's latest defeat on the relevant County page? Do those whom they employ to update the Surrey section not realise it's no longer June? Or both? I think we should be told: get a grip, Auntie.

Simon - The BBC aims to follow a policy of balance. Since Surrey's own website has a tendency to wild over optimism at times (successfully defending the hat trick ball = "Surrey mount a spirited recovery") perhaps they are just trying to redress the balance by only reporting on Surrey defeats? Erm

Thanks for the explanation Corp, wise words as ever. Presumably this policy of balance means only updating the site in even numbererd months. So I suppose we're stuck with Suppiah's mugshot till 1 August Whistle

Simon - the same magic formula remains in operation. The Surrey county page on the BBC cricket section is still running the headline "Surrey collapse as Kent seal win". Even though in the meantime we have chased down a total of almost 300 to win the CB40 match against Northants. Erm

...and will tonight's win at Edgbaston make it up on to the BBC site before next season?

Unlikely I would say since they still haven't covered the Northants match Very Happy

Or maybe Surrey keeping on winning in the CB40 is no longer regarded as any sort of news Erm

Roy gets his second successive century in a CB 40 match. Surrey record their 10th straight win.....

The headlines on the BBC Surrey page : "Surrey collapse as Kent seal win".

At least they are not still showing "Thorpe and Butcher lead Surrey fightback" Laugh Or Lock and Laker spin Surrey to victory again.... Erm
