Whisky, book or gardening tools?

I got a lovely bottle of Auchentoshen triple distilled [yum yum.]

You're a lucky man Doon, won't hazard a guess at what's coming my way but I know it won't match that. 'Course, they don't sell it here either.

I think there was a bit of bribery involved as we have the g'kids for the day.
Mum and dad work in the hotel business and today is naturally a very busy day.

Folk should remember this when they celebrate special days, we once went away for Christmas and I felt so guilty that staff were giving up there holiday to wait on me.

You are far too nice Doon - I spent the first 13 years of my working life in the Catering business and very quickly, came to regard every day as the same. Mind you it saved me from numerous family Christmas's, so was probably a blessing in disguise.

Father's Day.........Only one of my three have remembered so far and it looks like I will have to buy my own single malt.....again! Whistle Whistle

Both my daughters combined to give me a 25y/o Ben Nevis for my birthday.
Not collectable and worth over £100 I enjoyed it over the last 3 months. Unusual for me as I generally don't like the sherry cask whisky.

A wee quiz question worth remembering.
After Scotland, France is the next largest whisky consumer.
Strange but true.

Had a great day myself. Little slug slept late so a lie in. Cards and gifts. Family brunch in a local place. Played with the missus. Slug kissing and cuddling me all day. Session at the range and chipping green. Beer at the club with the live in watchman. Homemade pie. Now down the pub with el ringer watching the golf.

Top drawer.

Finally a little of the amber nectar came my way - it wasn't 30 year old Glenfarclas, but beggars can't be choosers.

I like the sound of your day LJ. I've been furniture restoring most of the day, it looks good, but can I join you next year? kiss
