Lads I wanted to trial some things during the Summer Tournament, for us then to take a view heading into the new season on what we need to amend around the games (if anything). 

First and foremost would be tactics and implementing Attributes. 
You can select two attacking and two defending attributes from the Attributes Page - these will be the basis of your written tactics. And will be in place for the group games of the Summer Tournament. 

You will then have a 300 word limit to write tactics. The format in which is free for you to decide, however I envisage you would want to write a little about your style of play (re attributes) and then the remainder in bullet points to keep it short and sweet. 

I will trial a new method of injuries however this will only take affect after game round 2.

Attack:

Tactics: looking overall to control the breakdown with our 3 operators in the backrow, whilst keeping balance in other areas, alongside grafting locks against really just ASM's flankers, then using that ball to batter phase after phase of quickly recycled ball against the Clermont defence.

- massive strength for ASM is their lineout. We've been working on our maul defence as a specialty which should neuter it.

- experience and grit in the pack alongside home advantage to make every pack encounter a dog-fight

- Direct running with pack or Danty on 1st phase Burns to attack the line on 2nd phase, getting players offering multiple options off him then identify the gaps

- defend with blitz, tight defence rather than wide.

- all our back 3 play FB, use that with Burns and Spencer kicking to test Abs under highball

Bath gain an advantage in the front row here, looking at the 2nd rows, solid eq option for Bath but Sarries too strong there. Two solid back rows on show, interested to see how Underhill does with the switch, could be a huge buy. Half backs to Bath but centres to Sarries by a bit. Solid finishers all round. Tough one, Bath to take it just.

Love both backlines, just think Saracesns a touch more balanced in the pack

Bath need work at lock, and Sarries have a very solid pack with no weakness. Saracens strong enough in the backs to win this

The standout area for the Bath side if the halfback combo, which will keep them competitive throughout the game. Up front both sides are reasonably strong, although lack a little with one or two lesser experienced players. A good game, and see Bath just nicking it.

Leinster 20 - 22 Exeter Chiefs
Solid pack from Chiefs here and can match Leinster. Same at half backs, Leinster could possibly get more in the centres. Chiefs too strong out wide and will stop the Leinster momentum. Chiefs bench will get them over the line.

Leinster 24 - 22 Exeter Chiefs
Leinster vs strong, with an edge in set piece but Exeter carrying abikity evens it up

Leinster 28 - 24 Exeter Chiefs
Big ask against a full strength Leinster side on the road, Exeter push them but Leinster have the quality in the props, back row and midfield to win

Leinster 27 - 25 Exeter Chiefs 
Although this leinster side is probably their best line up, they are still a formidable side. Chiefs have some great players in their line up and can see them doing well this season. However this one is just out of their reach at the minute.

Great match and feel Saints have met their match here up front with a strong Crusaders pack. Saints can get some back with the half backs but centres again can cause some trouble, Saints solid in defence. Evens out wide. Think Crusaders with their current form will be too much.

What a game this would be. Pocock is really lacking rating now for me, but Saints pack can match the Crusaders. I think Saints are better in the backline with a top quality half back combo and very dangerous back 3.

Northampton Saints 28 - 29 Crusaders
A good game between two similar sides for me. Up front it is relatively even, but the Saints halfback come gets them some good control. Saders have more of a creative threat for me, whereas Saints are perhaps a little more obvious in their approach. A narrow loss for the Saints in this one.

Harlequins 26 - 25 Leicester Tigers

Just an edge to Quins in the front row and the 2nd row with solid runners there. Tough to rate Jones for Tigers, good balance from Quins. Not a lot with half backs or in the centres, solid pairings from both teams. Quins slightly more dangerous out wide.

Quins will be up at the top again this season, and at home they just have too much quality for a Leicester side that is improving fast

Front 5 will be a solid battle with Collier helping Warriors here, think Sale will just have too much power in the 2nd row for Warriors to hold. Bit more quality in the Sale back row and a half back but a quality eq pairing for Warriors which will help no end. Solid centres for both, Sale back 3 too strong for most teams in the league.

Worcester compete well in some areas, but up against a full strength Sale side will struggle

Warriors are building nicely ahead of the new season, but Sale are still the team to beat in the league for me. Strong everywhere and can play almost an all court game. Warriors will make Sale work though, there is a threat from the Warriors backline.

Gloucester are a very good attacking side with some real quality in the outside backs, but the Canes are just too much in attack

The Hurricanes are a constant threat in a game, as proven in the Lions Series. Gloucester are a well measured team under Prop and still have an attacking threat to worry most. Just the pace of Canes attack will be too much for the Warriors.

Evens in the front row, Irish's 2nd row pairing well balanced and will get on top. Croft tough to rate so makes the back row battle a bit closer than maybe it should be. Good eq balance at half backs for Irish, Clermont bring a bit more. Centres even, out wide Irish can cause some damage. Tough one with bench being the factor, the power Irish can bring on takes them over the line.

Can't really split the teams up front to be honest. Both looking pretty solid and those two packs would be great in the wet weather. Half backs even with the centres slightly given to Wasps with JD2's current form. Solid for both out wide. Going to give Wasps the edge with the 10-12-13 combination.

The AP Champions look solid up front, but over powered in the back row, which will slow up some of their ball. Farrell dictating things at 10 makes Falcons click, although their attacking threat isn't as creative as the Wasps back line can manage from nothing. The Falcons bench will help steer them through, although need to consider PJ in the future Bam!
