What sort of contribution is Warbs making? Stats seem to indicate he is a peripheral figure in defence and attack - but they can be misleading.

Jack showing me why he is in the team right then! I take it back...being industrious has its merits. Well done Webb too who is having a great game (wont be enough to dislodge Murray I dont think)

A minute ago it was great now its decent, if decent is in Paynes vicinity then you're right when a player on the run has to reach down to their side to catch a pass its decent at a stretch

Really Billy? The pass should have been a least a foot in front of where it was.
Great break, great pass if Payne had been standing still Smile

Away witcha Pete Wink

Payne really should have taken that Very Happy

I think Payne has had a mixed bag today, he has made some great defensive tackles and some bad ones. I still firmly stand by my comments that in the SH he is a better 13 than 15 but in the NH he is a better 15 than 13.

Warbs said himself this was the game where he had to stand up. Trouble is, he hasn't... Reckon he'll be back in against the Maoris and that could be his last chance, if we don't see a massive performance in the second half.

Our conversion rate of chances to actual scoring are too low.

Still too many mistakes; judgement and skill

Joseph showed his class and has to be in the test squad

Shanks said if he's fit then he will start the fist test. I hope that isn't true as Obrien in particular & Tipuric are way ahead at 7 & Pom/Stander at 6.

From the breakdown, Stander ran an excellent line drawing to defenders, offloaded to Biggar who also drew a man and threw a good pass to JJ. It was JJ's pace that got him over the line. Was a good try.

We are going to miss Lawes, he was playing very well and possibly into the test team. That looked like a bad one, possibly a tour ender.

No doubt now, that test 9s will be Murrayand Webb, the challenge now will be who starts and who is in the bench.

Personally, I think that Haskell is again having a poor game at 6. Just does not seem to be defensively aware of his surroundings.

I think it will be Murray but Webb has again stuck his hand high in the air. Excellent competition for the 9 jersey.

Agreed his kicking game is far superior & will be important test time.

It wasn't an interception, it was a brilliant read from a 'kick pass' (highlanders have made loads today) and take then run to the line. Showed great awareness and speed to get that try. Proper individual try that.

He also may be a good option to counteract Barritt - he loves a kick pass and Seymour is so good at reading them.

It is moments like this that can get wingers test places!

Good play from the forwards but AWJ spoils it by running into his own player.
Some great running play by Webb before that

Webb off (is he injured, he was limping?) and Laidlaw on. I like Laidlaw but he is a more controlling 9 than attacking 9. The Lions may lose some of their attacking threat now.

JJ scores a lot of intercept tries.

Last season Leicester conceded a lot of them (3 at Scotstoun?). Once upon a time intercepts may have been lucky, but now it is usually down to pressure and an excellent reading of the situation.

Great game reading by Seymour...will he get those chances against all blacks though...doubtful. Then the weakness showed 5 mins later as he gets knocked back far to easily again.

Penalty given away again...havent seen the penalty count...whats it like, anyone know?

So has anyone played themselves into the test side for 1st game? Has anyones poor performances taken them completely out of contention?

Naholo sounds like he's showing why he's an AB starter.

That is one of the downsides to Sincklers game, that was a needles late barge off the ball to give a stupid penalty away there.

Warburton with the try. I think its fair to say that it was a very good try from him but about the only meaningful contribution in the match from him.

Dan Cole and Ken Owens on, what an upgrade to have on the bench.

5 m scrum to Lions after mistake behind their own line.

Pressure tells after a few carries & finally Warbs makes a contribution with a carry stretch and try
