It was Alex Noren's turn to play a different golf course in the final round and his round of 63 sealed victory by some margin.  Noren was picked by six Fantasy Leaguers and the only surprise is that one other Fantasy Leaguer broke their dominance in the final standings.  AlciG had four picks score and even without Noren he had the second most finish points.  BlueCoverman, Davie, Eyetoldyouso, I'm Never Wrong, and McLaren all had three picks score; BlueCoverman and McLaren both picked Noren but Blue couldn't match the quality of Mac's two others.  EmmDee57, Kwinigolfer, LadyPutt, Owen10ozzy, Pedro, Raycastleunited, Sand, SetupDetermines, SirBenson, and Super_Realist all had two picks score points.  LadyPutt, Pedro, SirBenson, and Super_Realist all had Noren in their picks, everyone else in the that group had scoring picks of varying quality.  GolferMartin and TheCleaver both had one scoring pick.

The penultimate event of the European Tour's Race to Dubai was also one of the first of the European Tour's wrap-around 2016 season.  This year sees the field expanded to become one of the final series events and it could see Henrik Stenson, current race leader, wrap up the season with victory here.  His closest challenger is Danny Willett who has strong course form having won in the 2015 season and came fourth in the previous edition.  Stenson has also won in Sun City back in 2008 and he finished second last time around.  Marc Leishman won the last NedBank Golf Challenge but he isn't contesting the Race to Dubai so can't even defend his title.  Thomas Bjorn is the only other winner of the NedBank but he didn't make to the final series.

Due to the limited field size the number of picks is scaled back to two from each category plus reserve.  This is also a no cut event so the usual cut bonuses are not in effect but additional points are available in round two.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:

Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligible for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply or PM them to me.  Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament.  However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Thanks for asking Sup's, I don't copy and paste so the format doesn't really matter to me so much; just as long as I can tell who the picks are, and who the reserve is, is enough.

Where it gets tricky is the use of nick names as sometimes I do draw a blank and think "who the #$@! is that?" or when just the surname is used and there are multiples potentially in the same category such as Fisher or Hansen/Hanson.  I might give you the wrong pick if that last one happens to be misspelled.

In leaving the recording of choices until round one is underway I sometimes find those challenges and it often leaves me with a judgement call on who was supposed to be selected.  I leave it to the last minute to make sure I have the final selection noted in case folks have made any changes.

And Kwini, picking the best players is a legitimate strategy, especially if you don't have time to think about who to pick. At least I actually get some picks on paper and don't go down the totally lame numbers route like others do.

Maybe you could use blockchain so you assign a tamper proof block to each player for us to pick on a distributed database. Foolproof and unhackable (allegedly).

I've been missing this all year... but is there a European Tour Sponsored Fantasy League for this board?  I do have a running team in that one.... ???

Robo, this League started on the original BBC boards and was first run by GoldWolf, or GW as he goes by here. It continued under the guise of Venice, a guy from CA, and then I took up the mantle. Events flip flop between both PGA and European Tours and are not run under any official format as such.

Ross Fisher, Felipe Aguilar, and Jeunghun Wang all shot 68 to set the early pace at the NedBank Golf Challenge. Both Fisher and Aguilar were picks. Rounds of 69 were needed to make the Top 5 Low Round scores and five other picks managed to do that.

BlueCoverman, Kwinigolfer, and Pedro all had three scoring picks but Kwini and Pedro picked Fisher to further add to their tally. Davie, EmmDee57, McLaren, Raycastleunited, and Super_Realist all had two scoring picks but Ray and Super added to their tally through Fisher and Aguilar respectively. I'm Never Wrong, LadyPutt, Owen10ozzy, Sand, SetupDetermines, and SirBenson all had one scoring pick.

All change in the second round as the early leaders struggled to consolidate their lead.  Fantasy League pick Louis Oosthuizen had the round of the day with a 66 while four other picks managed to shoot 67 or 68 to make the Top five Low Round scores.  AlciG sprung into action with three picks including Oosthuizen scoring.  Both McLaren and Super_Realist had two scoring picks while BlueCoverman, EmmDee57, Eyetoldyouso, GolferMartin, I'm Never Wrong, LadyPutt, Pedro, SetupDetermines, and SirBenson all had one scoring pick.  EmmDee57, GolferMartin, and I'm Never Wrong had Oosthuizen as their scoring pick.

Rounds of 70 were needed to be amongst the Top 10 Low Round scores and five picks managed that. GolferMartin, Raycastleunited, and Sand had three of the five picks. It was Alex Noren's turn to play a different golf course in the final round and his round of 63 sealed victory by some margin. Noren was picked by six Fantasy Leaguers and the only surprise is that one other Fantasy Leaguer broke their dominance in the final standings. AlciG had four picks score and even without Noren he had the second most finish points. BlueCoverman, Davie, Eyetoldyouso, I'm Never Wrong, and McLaren all had three picks score; BlueCoverman and McLaren both picked Noren but Blue couldn't match the quality of Mac's two others. EmmDee57, Kwinigolfer, LadyPutt, Owen10ozzy, Pedro, Raycastleunited, Sand, SetupDetermines, SirBenson, and Super_Realist all had two picks score points. LadyPutt, Pedro, SirBenson, and Super_Realist all had Noren in their picks, everyone else in the that group had scoring picks of varying quality. GolferMartin and TheCleaver both had one scoring pick.
