Braehmer vs Cleverly

Not much talk about this light heavyweight championship fight this Saturday night in Germany. Scheduled to fight in 2011, they finally get it on, really interested to see what Clev has left in him after those tough fights with Kovalev, Bellew and Fonfara. How do you lot see this fight going? Fancying Clev to nick it on points.

Fights like this really grate my goat...Braehmer has a padded up record and a pretend 'WBA championship'. Cleverly faced a lot of mediocre opposition is his career, the time he faced an elite fighter he was destroyed. In all honesty this is a fight between two fringe contenders, both in decline. The best part of this is the winner will be mandatory for the winner of Kovalev-Ward

Exactly what I'm thinking.

Putting the belt aside I don't mind this fight. Should be close and intriguing to see how it goes. Clev put in a good performance against Fonfara and think he will have too much so think he will take it on points.

As for the winner getting Kov or Ward then that would be a massacre.

The winner certainly would not beat Ward or Kov but it's still a fight worth watching hopefully. It will go to points I imagine. Don't think Clev will get the decision over there even if he deserves it. The Brae on points I'm going with

They're both pretty unremarkable, Euro level fighters. But I'd rather root for the fighter who chose to test himself and fell short, than the one who's been wrapped in cotton wool.

Didn't care about this fight five years ago, sure as hell don't care about it now.

Nothing against cleverly, but i couldn't get excited about him when he was being marketed to us, as the next big thing... certainly can't get excited about him now. But hey, he's trying good luck to the guy.

It's a shame with Cleverly as he could have been world class but didn't use his attributes. His old man wrecked him by trying to get him to be a slugger when he has little power.

Braehmer's record has more padding than my local polystyrene factory but he'll win because Clev will engage in a war when he should keep on the outside peppering the slow Braehmer with quick combos.

Yeah, Braehmer to win an entertaining but low standard slug-fest that will go to the cards and needless to say in Germany Clev will be robbed either by legitimately losing but being given insulting 118-110 x 3 cards or actually winning but getting losing SD'd with cards of 113-115; 115-113; 112-116.
