20 years.....For Hacker who gave ISIS list of 1,300 US Government workers

Ardit Ferazi hacked in to a private company and got Names......Telephone numbers...Private passwords and addresses......of US Government and military personnel and passed them over to the ISIS terrorist network...

ISIS published the names with a threat to attack..

Apparently Ferazi is a misguided individual according to his Defence lawyers...He's only 20 years old and didn't know what he was doing !!..."He doesn't even embrace ISIS ideology !!.."

At his sentencing he struggled to explain his actions....but "I feel so bad for what I did...I am sorry for making people scared!!"

20 years does sound a lot.......But I think it is fair...

Scary enough world without idiots like this kid !!

It is a scary world and there's plenty of idiots in it, including prosecutors and judges/judicial systems that impose sentences which perhaps aren't justified. I imagine he'll appeal.

I'd give 20 years each to the technicians who set up multi-million dollar systems that 20 year old kids who "don't know what [they are] doing" can easily hack into.

It's time this joke about 'innocent snot-nosed kids' stumbling onto heavily funded Government security structures, and just turning the key and walking in to take anything the want from the sweet jar, is exposed.

As I said, don't know details. If as defence claim, 20 years seems harsh albeit I accept that it's often the case that exemplary sentences can make sense sometimes.

Why would you give him access to the files? You want him to hack those files so you can see where the breaches in your security are, only this time he is sitting in the same room as you and you can kick seven shades of Sh*t out of him/ put a bullet in him if he tries getting rid of it/selling it. Essentially doing the same thing he has always done but in front of the security so the security can fix the weak points. I'm not saying release him totally but perhaps kept in a secure location and monitored. They've caught this one but i bet theres hundreds of breaches where people shrewder than him have gotten in and out without the authorities realizing not through superior technical skills but because they've been alot more discreet with how they went about selling/exposing the data. I'm not advocating a total release - just saying if he's good enough for this then its worth utilising him rather than locking him away in prison.

That's not quite how it works otherwise they wouldn't use CEH qualified people in U.S government agencies, this would be just be the same thing but monitored by experts because the fecker in question isn't certified/got security clearance.
