Doesn't mean I do not consider myself Irish, in fact as I said before, I have become more patriotic since living in Holland.
You mean you haven't even bothered to renew your Irish passport?

No I haven't, for me a passport is just a travel document, it does not define who I am

That was not a red card.
Did anyone notice the Irish commentator on sky switched from him being Irish to "the South African" when he got red carded?

Not sure how I feel about that red card. It was a stupid move on CJ's part, but I think the card is more to do with the outcome than action.

So after yesterday's A game for England it seems being screwed over by officials in South Africa will be the norm?

Stander had no chance to charge down the kick? What was he watching?

Utterly disgusting decision. That wouldn't have been a penalty if there was no KO.
Game ruined by a pillock of a French ref again

Re: South Africa v Ireland, 11 June
As far as I can tell, the ref is saying that CJ Stander had no chance of charging down the ball, so it becomes red rather than yellow.
Not sure how you can make that call. When you go up for a charge down, you have no idea where the kick might be going. If you wait to find out, you'll be too late going up.

If you go flying in and polax a player with a head high body check, you can't really complain if you get sent off. Some refs might give a yellow, but many a straight red. Stupid and unecessary from Stander.

Punished for legitimately charging down the ball? Disgraceful. The referee should be punished for such a pathetic and crucial decision that has ruined this game.

Ridiculous red, maybe a yellow due to the outcome but it is almost like the real time made it look worse! At least Stander can say he knocked someone out with his butt!!

Lambie was dropped cold on a senseless charge. I'm surprised no one here thinks that merited at least a second look by the ref

Who said it didnt merit a look? It was hardly senseless as Lambie was kicking, it was fruitless theres a big difference

Of course it did. On second viewing it was a legitimate charge down (albeit clumsy). Very unfortunate accident that should have been a penalty.

Rugby in the northern hemisphere is all about whining about the ref for 80 minutes plus however long he unfairly adds on at the end.

Can't complain about the yellow card but there was an obstruction there that allowed the try to be scored. Madness.
