Are the bearings 5.4 or 6.2. Probably 100-200£ depending on the shaft release system condition.

Not sure to be honest mate. Thank you for the estimate though. Much appreciated. It's been a bit of a mare of a day all round.

My clutch went last year on my Laguna. The part itself was coming in at over 500 as something alongside the clutch also went. French parts are always more expensive mind.

A little tip is to offer to get the part yourself which is what I did and I nearly halved what they were quoting. There is a website where you can post the part you are looking for and garages send you their prices.

Turns out the clutch wasn't the only thing. Came out with a list of jobs as long as tyson fury's arm.

So just getting the minimum done to get to road worthy then gonna get the rest sorted at a garage closer to home.

Cheers gents for input.

Think I will use this thread for all my car queries in future.

Ok I paid for 'clutch pedal parts required retainer for clutch master cylinder to pedal' £87.11.

Other jobs are (big breath)....

Both front indicator showing white light £13.18
Remove key inoperative - price not quoted
Transmission end plate leaking oil £100.45
Alternator belt perished/cracked/worn £98.08
N/s/r shocker absorber leaking £143.80
Rear suspension bushes excessive play £303.62

Other than that the car is fine.

Looks steep prices. Trying to work out which to do first!

Bloody hell.
Getting a lease car delivered next Thursday. Always had an older car in the £1000 price range but getting a brand spanking new ford eco sport.
£160 per month. Worked out that I will save £40 per month on fuel, no tax so that's £20 per month, no rac membership which is £10.

Yeh, some great finance deals out there atm, providing you don't mind never truly owning your car.

Mine expires in 18 months and I'm never going to be able to match it sadly.  So not sure what I'll be offered near expiry.

5 years interest free finance, £5k down, includes all servicing & maintenance, road tax/VED and annual MOT and I get all the roadside/breakdown cover etc.

Sad
