Well what a finish that turned out to be.  After creating a seemingly unsurmountably lead Spieth sputtered, stuttered, and stumbled opening the door before his horlicks of a 12th hole.  Willett on the other hand played some outstanding golf to go bogey free overcoming demons and distractions to post a clubhouse lead of -5 and ultimately attend a fitting for a new jacket.

I'm Never Wrong and SirBenson both had six picks left in the fight while the chasing pack of Hibbz, Owen10ozzy, and SetupDetermines had five picks, AlciG just the four.  An impressive team talk saw all of AlciG's picks finish inside the top ten. SetupDetermines had four of his five score and SirBenson matched the scoring picks too; both had a player towards the low end of the points spectrum  Hibbz, like AlciG, had four inside the top ten but a slight difference in quality changed everything.  Hibbz had runner up Lee Westwood compared to a tenth place finish for AlciG.  BobtheJob, Hogie, McLaren, and Owen10ozzy had three picks score.  I'm Never Wrong, LadyPutt, Pedro, Sand, and TheCleaver all had two picks score while the rest of the Fantasy League could only manage the one pick that ranged from runner up Jordan Spieth to fifteenth placed Louis Oosthuizen.

The race for Low Amateur was all but over but Romain Langasque tried to make it interesting by shooting 68.  Unfortunatley he couldn't close up the nine shots difference as Bryson DeChambeau finished with a level par 72.  It's quicker to name those that didn't pick Chambeau and thus missed out on the 30 points.  Beninho, BobtheJob, GolferMartin, Owen10ozzy, Super_Realist, and TheCleaver didn't get any points from their Low Amateur selection.

Winner Danny Willett shot 67 to tie for low round of the day with compatriots Paul Casey and Matthew Fitzpatrick.  Casey was a pick and that earned points for AlciG and SirBenson.

It’s that time of year again as we head to Georgia for the Masters. The unofficial start to the season is upon us as the world almost steps back in time by crossing the threshold and onto Magnolia Lane. In this genteel place the golfing vocabulary changes, where there is no rough or spectators but different cuts and patrons. Pristine manicured fairways and flowerbeds set the scene for the tournament which really only gets serious on the back nine on Sunday.  This is where players will negotiate the swirling winds of Amen corner and listen to the roars generated by those on a charge and hopefully make their own to don a green jacket on the 18th green.

There are 89 entrants to this year’s tournament including the last minute addition of Jim Herman by virtue of his win in Houston. There is a very top heavy field; 49 of the top 50 are at Augusta. The only one to miss out is Jim Furyk. Of the other 40, 17 are from inside the top 100.  In the field are 20 first timers, 6 amateurs, and 16 past champions.

With the limited field we are back to two picks plus reserve.  No additional cut bonus points will be awarded in this instance, the only cut bonus to apply is for all six picks through to the third round.

There are six amateurs in the field, idenitfied by (Am) after their name, so we will have a separate pick for Low Amateur. The Low Amateur pick does not have to be one of your Cat C picks unless you so desire.  30 points will be on offer for correctly picking the Low Amateur; if no amateurs make the cut then no points will be awarded.

Everyone please notify others of changes in field before tournament starts and invalid or incomplete picks from participants.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:

Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Pick 1 amateur identified by (Am) after their name

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligible for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply or PM them to me.  Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament.  However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.
