Don't care for Bowie, never did, never will. It's sad but there you go. Watched Lemmy's funeral/commemorative service via YouTube on Saturday night. Never seen so many drunk people at such an event (then again I'm not of the travelling fraternity where I believe it's obligatory). Ziggler would have loved it as HHH from the wrasslin' spoke (quite eloquently as it happens).

Ozzy was sat at the front thinking "Is this what I have to look forward to, a bunch of aging (badly) rockers who happen to be free on the day of my funeral turning up offering saccharine sentiments and half remembered anecdotes that probably aren't even theirs? And another thing, had I died before Lemmy they'd probably be talking about naming this new chemical element 'Ozzium' in tribute to me. Oh f*cking hell!"

Anyway, at the end of the service, some guy strapped on Lemmy's bass, banged out a chord and then rested it against the amp and turned the volume waaaaay up just like Lemmy did after each gig. It was a fitting end (as was the fact they were all heading off to his favorite bar to get wasted afterwards...it's what he would have wanted)

I can answer this. It is a north/south thing.

We have one other northerner in our office. He called him Bowie (as in bow and arrow) and the southerners are all calling him Bowie (as in take a bow, sir).

So it is Bowie. As in bow and arrow. That is the correct answer as southerners are both wrong and stupid.

Still a little shocked about David Bowie... or Bowie... however you want to say it. My dear old Kiwi granny used to say the latter, but I always pronounce it like the former. Saw him in concert about 30 years back... coming out of school. Remember some hot chicks dancing to Young Americans. Had a hard on of sorts at the time... maybe even some pre-cum if memory serves me. Think it had something to do with the light blue denim and decent sets of jugs in tank tops bouncing away.
