Predictions for 2016

Whilst there is a lull in proceedings I was thinking about who would win what, and other predictions for 2016.
I have chosen 5 categories but feel free to join in and choose anothers if you wish.

FedEx Cup Winner Brooks Koepka
Race to Dubai Winner - Rory McIlroy
Major Champions (no particular order) McIlroy, Watson, D Johnson, Fowler.
European Ryder Cup automatic places  McIlroy, Rose, GMac, Fitzpatrick, Sullivan, Willett, Dubuisson, Lowry, Wiesberger and Kaymer.

Random Prediction - Woods failing to make the cut in any of the Majors.  

Bit easy choosing McIlroy for three of them, but I think he will be more consistent than Speith or Day.

Anyway, argue away!

Random prediction: Woods announces retirement.

fedex winner: Spieth

Race to dubai: McIlroy

Majors: Spieth and DJ will continue to challenge (Mcilroy won't win one next season)

Euro Ryder Cup: McIlroy, rose the only obvious automatic qualifiers.


Koepka did not feature in any of my predictions but agree with the idea he will have a big season.

Random Prediction. No major wins for Pubehead, Jesus Spieth or Jason Day. Lowry to die of a heart attack

Fedex Winner: Fowler.

RtD: Fitzpatrick

Majors: In no order. Fowler, Stenson, Willett, DJ

Euro Ryder Cup. Pubehead, Rose, Garcia, Fitzpatrick, Willett, Sullivan, Kaymer, Knox, Kjeldsen

Random prediction - another year when I get gradually worse, and more frustrated, probably exacerbated by a couple of scores out of the blue in the 60s which make all the 77s and 78s seem even worse.

Majors - couldn't care less, and it seems I won't be watching them anyway because they are on Sky, which I don't have. However I will be going to Troon for a couple of days (in spite of the insane prices), since that was the first Open venue I went to, and if it's another 15 years before it goes there again, I might be too old by then.

Ryder Cup - ditto. I hope there are a lot of new players though, I'm sick of Poulter, Westwood, Furyk et al.

Further predictions: Shane Lowry won't come up with a sensible double dipping schedule. Resulting in his failure to make the top 125 in the fedex and relying on his WGC win for 2017 PGAT participation.

Hard to see anyone breaking the big 3 in the majors (assuming they all stay fit and steer clear of footy with their mates). If anyone is going to do it id say Fowler

Random prediction: Woods to retire

I think after Woods' statement today, those predicting his retirement aren't far off the mark.

We may all have our opinions on Tiger but it's sad if a great career should end this way.

Tend to agree. A lot of what I dislike about Woods and golf is to do with the media overkill, so hardly his fault really. In his prime, a pretty amazing player.
