Daddy long legs are a nightmare for cricket groundsman. Their larvae are called Leatherjackets feed on the roots of the grass and can devastate the square. Season is done but the crows are digging up the bastards on my square at the moment.

Going to a wedding tomorrow. Haven't met either of them - friends of Miss Some Former Obscure Soviet Socialist Republic with a Penchant for Western Lifestyle by the Harbour, Actually. The Service is at 1:30p.m. and then the reception is at 6:30. A bit strange.............the large gap?

Question is: what to do for the 3-4 hours in between?
It's going to be quite hot. Next few days - 33,35,34,33,33... then it drops back down to 23 next Thursday.

Think I'll take her to some temperature controlled beer garden to watch part of the AFL Grand Final (hate it when people pick wedding dates which clash with important cultural events) and then try and leave the party at around 9-10pm if possible. Then some hanky-panky if I'm lucky and a very early Sunday morning wake up here to watch the Wallabies stuff things up again.

Does that sound like a half decent plan?

By the way, good luck to you all. It seems like many are writing England off.
There's always a possibility of things backfiring badly for either side isn't there? It's only a silly game, remember.
