One detriment to this entertaining game.

I've had to start a new account as the facebook button doesn't seem to be there for me today nonetheless Wilson is bloody awful and a nutcase, is he unaware of the existence of cameras in general.

Also I suspect I will get lynched for saying this and I don't like saying it but we're looking for a captain who is near the pack, likely to start most games and is actually quite good. Well in the run up to the try I saw John Hardie's ugly mug barking orders and I think I've seen our captain.

If only Samoa had discipline they'd be a great team.

Perez is a great signing for Toulose. Samoan fans have been asking for him to start ahead of Tuilagi all tournament. Brilliant player.

If we can get the restarts and play some controlled rugby in their territory we can edge it. If we continue like this then we'll lose.

Both sides apparently very happy to shun kickable penalties...

Good game so far not sure how Scotland are still in the game, Samoa giving away too many needless penalties. Second half could favour Scotland as Samoa tend to run out of steam.

Cancel that try cancelld. But really Samoa showing what they could/should of done be fore this game.

We need Vern to work his magic again, bring Strauss on for Wilson, and dare I say it even Shlong on for Scott, Horne's too lightweight to go into the midfield against these guys.

Re Wilson yellow, it should be the same punishment for both. If the decision that was made continues it only encourages teams to hold on more.

Not to sure Samoa will be the ones to run out of steam. They all play of have played with top clubs around the world and love this type of game. It's the maul that could be the beating of them though.

Tbh I think Horne would be a better option. We need brains more than brawn to deal with the Samoan backs.

Because holding onto a player for a second isn't a yellow card offensive, it is a penalty. So the stamp is effectively a reversed penalty and yellow card. Every player knows that is what will happen if they stamp on an opposition player.

Because simply put his rule breach did not warrant a yellow card, Wilson's stamp did. You can't upgrade the Samoan's actions to the retaliation.

If we can somehow grab a few early points, a try or a penalty and then just take the sting out.

I understand the Samoan's holding didn't warrant a penalty or yellow card and the stamp did by the letter of the law but what that incident effectively achieved was Samoa getting an advantage from deliberate foul play. No punishment in that instance simply encourages the Samoans to continue it.

Jaco Peiper and TMO keeping Scotland in the game so far.

What you need (and people won't like this) is the TMO getting involved and calling for the penalty. Every single time (or at least advantage and a warning). Then you can yellow for repeated infringement if it carries on. But you need to apply that to hands in the ruck, not releasing and all the multitude of things players from all teams do to cheat to an advantage.

I have no intention of defending Wilson.

He had no idea where he was standing. If he'd stood on his face, that would have been red and that would probably have been the game.

Expect him to get hooked for Strauss pretty soon. I expect our fitness to hold and for us to calm the hell down. Hoping for a strong second half.

eh, no because if Wilson hadn't stamped then it would have been a penalty to Scotland (if the ref had seen it of course). Why is this so confising to people? It's a very simple situation which was delt perfectly by the ref/TMO.
