The Eddie Hearn Effect Empty The Eddie Hearn Effect

Post by AlexHuckerby Sun 24 May 2015, 3:07 am

Have to say with mainly his main fighters, he has done a seriously good job. Froch unknown on these shores to a household name, Degale from an annoying cocky so and so to a pretty likeable guy etc.

Not kissing Eddie's arse too much but he seems to really drill certain necessities into his fighters. Maps out a very clear route and game plan to them and keeps it up with reminding them of how important it is to them, much like what he has done with Brook and Degale, two perfect examples and seems to have got them into this mentality of "This is it!" So when it comes fight night we've seen our guys perform to the best of there abilities.

You don't really get that same feeling from Arum etc.

Huck, I hope you are not going to be giving all the credit to Eddie when Selby dominates the P4P rankings in future

No the fact that Eddie has drilled it into his fighters and its one of the reasons ONE, not the only you daft yank, ONE of the reasons why they have performed so well. Properly prepared.

Not meaning to disregard everything you say today Alex but that is again down to their trainers; Brook and Degale were always going to get world title shots no matter who they were promoted by. When it comes to preparation the buck starts and stops with the boxer himself.

Hearn has done well to get his stable good paydays but you have to look more at the likes of Smith and Rose for that.

I thought he only had the one other account to be honest which was the Lescargo one

He could have more though I guess

Does he really go crying to the mods? That would be so childish if he does laughing

But you guys need to start getting on otherwise the reputation of this website could be tarnished...

He's struggling today..............

I've disproved every accuation he's made and now I've got 15 aliases apparently....

I imagine he's going to try to win one battle by telling me who they are !! Cool

Its a bank holiday which is why the boards are quite slow today has nothing to do with the tone of the thread. If this was an ordinary day this thread and the nature of the topic would be hotly debated.

Although I have to say I do not agree with the OP on this one. Hearn is a suave, slik talking promoter with good connections and the main factor MONEY. Anyone in the US knows who the major player in British boxing is Hearn but I still think he is quite naive and may get exposed with his treatment of Joshua who has learnt nothing he would not learn working the heavy bag. He needs to prepare for eventual clashes with Wilder, Fury and Wlad but he cant go another 11 fights facing the rubbish he has faced to date. Joshua should beat Johnson (payday) and then go straight to facing the likes of Price or Povitkin.

Having learnt nothing lets just chuck him in with the second best Heavyweight in the world with no preperation, make no mistake about it Povetkin would beat both Wilder and Fury with something to spare.

Alex I have written this song for you about Eddie which you can pass off as a tribute to him and as your own work:

Eddie's got a fast car
I want a ticket to one of his shows
Maybe we make a deal
I get a good seat and he gets a blow
Any place is better (than Leeds)
Starting from zero got I got nothing to lose
Maybe me and Eddie will make something
Me myself I got nothing to prove

So remember when we were driving in your daddies car
Lee Selby has speed so fast I felt like I was drunk
You dad's money lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
And I had a feeling that I belonged
I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone (like Anthony Joshua)

Regards

Povetkin kept walking down Wlad.... Reckon he'll do the same to Wilder and land a money shot.

Reckon Fury and Wilder both beat Povetkin.............Giving away three stone to Fury and Wilder is more polished..

all three would get buried off Thomas, Tubbs, Page and Witherspoon....

Personally think that Eddie has given them a clear route and a pinaccle type of feeling, he instils a lot of confidence in his fighters himself. Which isn't like Arum etc.

You're a gifted songwriter steffy. A man of many talents.
Here's a song I wrote for Eddie, it's called 'an ode to frank warren'.

Don't you know
They're talkin' bout a revolution
It sounds like a whisper
Don't you know
They're talkin' about a revolution
It sounds like a whisper

While they're standing in the welfare lines
Crying at the doorsteps of those armies of salvation
Wasting time in the unemployment lines
Sitting around waiting for a promotion

Poor fighters gonna rise up
And get their share
Poor fighters gonna rise up
And take what's theirs

Don't you know
You better run, run, run...
Oh I said you better Run, run, run...
Finally the tables are starting to turn
Talkin' bout a revolution
