Week end 25th/26th May
Football fixtures
Saturday 25th
Limerick v Cork - Anything other than a Nice handy training match for Cork?
Sunday 26th
Kerry v Tipp - unfortunate that Tipp are not in the best shape they have been in over the last ten years as Kerry are in decline. Still should be a forgone conclusion. RTE are televising this game why
London v Sligo - Sligo not in great state but should still beat London
Laois v Louth - Would have preferred this as the early televised game.
Wicklow v Longford - Longford on league standings only
Donegal v Tyrone - Mind games aplenty. Suggestions that Tyrone returned tickets after agitating for a move to Clones due to capacity issues. Lacey and McHugh doubts for the game. Still going for Tyrone

Usual results in Munster.
London launched biggest surprise by beating Sligo in Ruislip.
Battle of ex Armagh won clearly by O'Rourke. Severe trimming for Laois McNulty must beep on shaky ground.
Wicklow win in Aughrim
Donegal made wee boys of Tyrone but still wouldn't want Tyrone in the qualifiers if we were beat in Derry next weekend.

Tyrone definitely a team to avoid but the attitude of a lot of them reminded me of when they played Kerry last year..............getting involved in dirty off the ball stuff. Tyrone discipline needs to be better........................with great players like Kavanagh though, No reason why they won't make QF.

Disappointing from Tyrone failure to take lead at start of second half cost them dearly. Tyrone didn't look like wee boys today they were on par with Donegal until they pulled away unfair to say otherwise. Hopefully next day out the referee is not from Cavan.

Tyrone lost the physical battles all over the pitch. The number of wides with the exception of the frees by Morgan suggested that the tactic of long range shooting didn't work. The question was did Tyrone recognise that the couldn't cope with the physical game Donegal bring. The irony is that Tyrone built there success on some good footballers but also physical intensity, playing on the edge and gamesmanship.

I think Tyrone were set up tactically right it was more Donegal picking out the main men Morgan Cavanagh O'Neill and Donnelly and stopping them playing smothering O'Neill all game and mc Guinness got the Morgan thing right put him under pressure standing 3 in front of him and were not far enough away another referee on another day may have made the Donegal players move further back. I do believe Tyrone relied too heavily on Morgan today which was added pressure on its own right.

I would like to have seen the stats but relying on any man to consistently kick frees from that distance isn't a plan for the winning of a game.
I think Tyrone if they can pick themselves up will do alright through the back door and are likely to be about in August.
Like the rest of us they can only hope that when they meet Donegal the next day Donegal suffer from
a. Injuries to key players
b. Mental fatigue in implementing their defensive system
c. Physical fatigue
Only a appears realistic and as for my own county the winner of next weeks game looks like having the honour of getting a trimming in Clones by the machine.
