Hartlepool have sacked there manager after relegation to league 2

I have a lot of respect for Hartlepool, but this just seems like an odd choice at the wrong time
They we're as good as relegated when he took over, they were just trading water in anticipation for next season, the fact that they got so close to getting out of trouble and picking up manager of the month along the way delegates just how a good of a manager he actually was, on top of that, he only made one signing during his reign there....
It's a baffling decision, but I wish John Hughes all the best and a swift return to management, he can clearly do a decent job in the lower leagues
