Portsmouth
At this point, their best bet might be to fold and reform as a phoenix club. 60m in debt in league 1, no assets left in terms of valuable players, cycle of owners. Looks bleak.

Re: Portsmouth
I agree, it is very very upsetting times, but we have seen it with AFC Wimbledon rising through the leagues, hope Portsmouth can do the same if they decide to do what is best and that is to fold.

Re: Portsmouth
I think they need to keep going, although they'll be almost certainly in League 2 next season, Luton Town managed to get through the debt even if it meant being down in the BSP for a few years, they're on the verge of returning and with healthy accounts.
Folding and "doing an AFC Wimbledon" is naive as a plan, considering Wimbledon's rise is as remarkable as they come, to suggest it's logical as an idea for Portsmouth is crazy IMO.

Re: Portsmouth
Ultimately if they don't come out of administration over the summer, theyll be booted regardless.
FL seems to have had enough of the musical chairs approach to ownership.

Re: Portsmouth
Seems all the problems have finally ended!!! All the best to them, seems they will get relegated to league 2, but hopefully they can build it up again from there.

Re: Portsmouth
Was very good at the start of last season. A shame we loaned him.
Hopefully he’ll go onto score a few more and Portsmouth get back to the championship.

Kwini
Read that we are thinking of bringing back Green.
I’d have him back.
Shame for Portsmouth if he’s doing well though.

Re: Portsmouth
Hi westi,
If PFC let Green go, you'd have to think they're committed to hanging on to Lowe, at least until the summer. We're getting goals from lots of places but no substitute for a natural goalscorer.
But good luck to Green, hope they can finesse a stay until after our QPR Cup tie!

Re: Portsmouth
He’d be better off staying at Portsmouth till the summer.
We have enough cover for that position.
Hopefully he’s over his injury worries.

Well Green is back. Hopefully he gets game time and creates the form that he showed at the start of last season.
Hopefully on the bench at least Saturday.

Re: Portsmouth
It looks as if PFC picked up players on spec; not sure if any will help if we get promoted, or help us get there. We've been down this road before.

Agreed, Perhaps he'll do the business at FP. But I'd've liked to have seen PFC pick up a couple of real Championship players to help get promoted, then be competitive in the Championship.
Greedy, I know!
