Do Froch and Kessler like each other too much?

It is pretty obvious to me that these guys like each other, a lot. Is this going to be an issue for either fighter?

Froch has mad respect for Kessler, I think more say than the other way round. Will their mutual respect for one another play a part in this fight? Or once the bell rings do they go at it like horny chipmunks?

Chavez and Ramirez were great friends before their fight...Weren't so great afterwards...

Most Tennis, Golf players etc are great friends......But they are very competitive...

Because they have pride, families and there is great riches at stake...

I think a great deal of respect between the pair was evident before their first fight, too. It didn't stop them from putting the peripheral stuff aside for that one and boxing a top drawer fight, so I see no reason why it'll be of a negative impact this time.

Mutual respect more than being too matey.

Froch respects Kessler as he gave him a great fight, a great chance to win a title and ow has the decency to give him a rematch to avenge one of only 2 losses

Kessler respects Froch as he came into his backyard and almost pulled off the upset and never gave up

They are both at crossroads, both have been dominated by Ward, there is no interest in Bute fights (for either men) given the job Froch did on him and Kessler had put himself back into the picture after a layoff with injury. Why bad mouth each other, they both sound like they will kill for the win but as they said they aren't fighting, they are boxers and while they always try to wi they isn't want to hurt each other

Mayweather, a notorious bad mouther, had nothing but respect for Cotto when they did seem quite matey but left it all in the ring.

You're both right, I am sure. I do wonder if it will have an impact on Froch's performance more than Kessler's. Fingers crossed he goes in for the finish as he would with anyone else. Providing the finish is there.

the fights that are billed as grudge matches often end up being the most respectful. look at cleverly against bellew! then the boxers who show the most respect in a build up often get a nasty twist during the ring. Calzaghe against Jones is a great example of this.

all fights need a certain amount of respect, but most also need some anger. if it doesnt happen during the build up, we will see some unleashed at some point in the fight. most boxers need aggression. look at how disrespectful froch was towards ward, and how ward stayed nice. that turned around during the fight and both showed the opposite sides of their fighting needs.

froch kessler will get nasty, im confident of it. im expecting a knock out

Make no mistake, both of these guys are fighters. Not just boxers. Fighting is in their blood and there is no way it'll effect their performance on the night. Both seriously want this win so they'll not be taking any chances; if the finish is there they'll take it.

These two come to fight, will be an entertaining bout with no quarter given or asked for.

Once the first bell goes it will be all business.

On the plus side I hope all the respect should gains froch some new fans. Nothing like a bit of respect to win people over. Especially as many see him with a chip on his shoulder

Wasn't there a story that Froch's mum told him not to fight Kessler again because he was such a lovely man?
