Earls POM and Murray all had great games. Positive from an irish point of view.

Munster's passing has let us off the hook so many times.

Nice finish from fife on the second try, and I agree that atiga was a positive influence coming on.

Once again us edinburgh fans are left wondering what might have been.

He should have, but he never should have had to make that challenge, the initial one should have been made. Munster will be kicking themselves about not getting the bp, Rog out next week will let us all see if he really is holding them back as much as we believe.

Great to see glimmers of the real Edinburgh shining through at the end but still things are very shakey. Scott, Atiga, Talai, Denton (at times), Nel (in loose) Cairns, Tonks all had a great game! Reese was much better than Laidlaw at 9 for sure

Edinburgh lock blocked him. Nothing major to be honest. ROG ran after him and took a wild kick at him in true football fashion. That guy is severely tarnishing his reputation.

POM was good but how you dont give MOTM to Botha there i dont know. The scrum won Munster that game. I dont think they will qualify now.

Now for Ospreys to beat Tigers and deny them a LBP. That would be nice. It would set it up brilliantly for next weekend.

Think POM is a fairer call than Botha, if you were giving it for the scrum Kilcoyne gets it. I would have given it to Murray.

The Sky coverage was really very poor, so one-sided in favour of Munster, how can anyone think it's a good idea to have Frankie Sheahan commentating on a team that contains a number of players that he is agent to? Hardly any mention of ROG's kick which would obviously have been a straight red card if the ref had seen it.

I would have mentioned Kilcoyne but for his stupid yellow. POM is a fair call but possibly more to do with being Frankie's player???

Yeah that kick should be cited pretty clear, surprised the TJ didn't pick it up. Also surprised the TJ didn't suggest a yellow for the high tackle.

In other news how can a pundit give MOM to his client? Conflict of interest surely? Still it is News International whose regard for such things are a bit lax.

Definitely. It is ridiculous that Frankie is allowed to commentate on games in which his clients are playing in. Didn't think Botha was all that good today outside of the scrum.

Yellow for that high tackle would have been extremely harsh, it was just a tackle that slid up nothing malicious.

Well the way I would look at it is that this season is over realistically for Munster, so what is the harm in giving it to JJ and putting faith in him for next season. I'd actually start him at 12 tbh.

I did try to explain this on another thread: basically the MFL are afraid of winning so they don't show up until the game is lost. Look at the contrast between their Rabo and Heino performances last year. They are afraid that if they play out of their skins from the off and lose then they really are as bad as their Rabo results say they are, so they withdraw into themselves until it's safe to come out. ( when is it safe for the MFL to come out? provide your own punchline) The most worrying aspect is that word is leaking out from both Scotland and MFL camps that certain players are ignoring instructions and game plans and making things up as they go along. Just how badly do these people want to lose? Seen in this light if I were S J I would think twice before putting any of them into my 6N squad. Except of course Chunk who obviously as a prop is afraid of nothing, except salad, and has never gone in for existentialist introspection.

Well now, unless I'm wrong, it looks like Munster need to get a bonus point victory and score more tries than Leinster to be guaranteed of qualifying. If Toulon beat Montpellier then there is the possibility of both Leinster and Munster going through on 20.

Its now out of our hands. We need either Toulon or Tigers to win next week and then score more tries than the ladies.

No Blue much simpler than that. It is a 4 horse race for 2 positions.

Munster can win if:

a) they score equal tries than Leinster and get a bonus point
b) if Munster win with a bonus point and Montpellier lose

Only one team can qualify from Leicester and Toulouse unless Munster or Leinster fail to get a TBP in which case Toulouse can lose with a LBP and Montpellier lose.

As long as Munster win and win with a TBP scoring more tries than Leinster then they should make it through.

Edit; having checked Munster have 9 tries, Leinster have 8 and Toulouse have 14, and Tigers have 13 so even if they were to come second on 20 points they would likely go through ahead of either Irish province.
