After a topsy turvy year the 3rd season of the Premier League has drawn to a close. In what was without doubt the most fascinating and closest season we are finally able to crown a new winner…congratulations to Tomfinneywalksonwater who just 2 seasons ago was in the Championship. It’s heartbreak for Manos De Piedra who for the first time goes empty handed having won the 2 previous titles. In the end he was beaten by a solitary point along with Sherm who has now finished in the top 5 in both of his Premier League seasons. For perennial underachiever Union Cane it will be a final 2 weeks to forget, whilst he scored well with 22 points in Week 5 & 6 it was not enough to cling on to top spot and he falls 3 places to 4th. Whilst no doubt disappointed it is a marked improvement on previous seasons where he has struggled. It’s a season to remember for Premier League newcomer Bhb001 who is just pushed into 5th place…he will look to push on next season in the aim of a title challenge. For another of the new additions Bellchees it was also a memorable first season with a solid mid table finish as well as a final week Predictor of The Week Award. With momentum behind him can he push for a top 4 spot next time around. 88chris05 for the 2nd season straight has to settle for a mid table spot. The former TOP 4 star will be getting impatient with his inconsistency and will hope that Season 4 will bring about a return to form. It was the same old story for another one of the Premier League stalwarts lfc91 who recorded another improvement with his 6th place being his highest finish to date. After being in a relegation scrap for much of the season ShahenshahG will be more than happy with mid table..he pulled out a huge week 5 (25points) and followed that up with a solid 19 to escape the clutches of the drop. Perhaps the biggest surprise was the struggles of Compelling & Rich who after finishing in the top 4 last season found himself towards the foot of the league. Was it a case of success getting to his head or just a minor blip in form…we shall find out come Season 4. The shock of the season without doubt is last seasons runner up The Galveston Giant who has incredibly been relegated. His week 5 score of just 10 was a huge blow to his chances of avoiding the drop & tears of celebration a mere season ago will be replaced by a hollow feeling of disappointment at facing the basement league next year. Joining him is Daz who becomes the yo-yo man of the OMPL with relegation immediately after last years promotion.

The curtain comes down on another Season in the OMPL Championship. After a long & gruelling year the battle for a place amongst the elite is over. A huge congratulations to the winner Il Gialloblu whose consistency throughout Season 3 sees him take top spot by a bit of a canter. Joining him in next years Premiership with an automatic promotion finish is Trenchtownbaboon. The man who lost in last years play off has left nothing to chance this time & can now relax and look forward to being amongst the elite next season. It could have been very different however given the close nature of the positions 2-5 which were separated by a single point. Soldier of Fortune has to settle for 3rd place & a play off spot due to only having the 2nd highest weekly score, along with Boxtthis who will be delighted with his spot in just his 2nd year in the league. Also making the play-offs are spencerclarke & league newcomer seanmichaels. Whilst they will all have a sense of achievement with their positions it will soon be replaced by nerves due to the lottery like nature of the Play-offs.

So that concludes Season 3 of the OMPL. A big thank you to all of those involved...again apologies for the slightly unorganised nature of this season. Next season should see a return to consistency with regards to times of table updates etc.

Congratulations to our league winners Tomfinneywalksonwater & Il Gialloblu.

Also congratulations go to those who scooped a Predictor of the Week Award.

For those who made the play-offs this year, there will be no actual play-off series taking place due to the decision to merge both leagues into one super league next time around.

The OMPL will return for the weekend of the 19th January!

poor season for me, hopefully will do better next year. think last time there was one big merged league i won it, so heres hoping its a lucky charm

Everyone should probably go check to be honest...given Soldier's consistent moaning about the time it was taking me to get round to this it has been done quite quickly.

I will get round to editing the position as1079...when the links for previous seasons go up on Season 4 page you shall be shown as 6th place.

I shall leave it for the time being as it really makes very little difference this time round, due to the fact the league's will be merged next time around.

You underscored mine owen heres a formula to help you as you seem to be incapable of adding up

Shah's score = x +1 (where x is the highest score not counting shah's)

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I had a draw for the Porter vs Diaz fight but changed it, that would have given me a monumental score. Nevermind happy with mid table and a 1st predictor of the week award.

I enjoy running the competition especially as I know it can provide some light relief from the rigors of work for a fair few people...

Hence I was devastated when Paperbag stopped running the SHEEP game all those months ago. The guy has no commitment to this forums needs

Think I may have to introduce a points deduction rule for next season though for anyone who moans just a wee bit too much

Sneaked in for a playoff place in the last two weeks after languishing mid table for my entire previous OMPL career. Thanks for the effort Owen. Will the playoffs be in the new year?

No playoffs will happen this time round Boxtthis.

This is because next season will see both leagues merge into one super league. I will explain the new format a week before the start of the new season so that everyone knows how it will work.

So whilst congratulations are on offer for your play-off finish it will just have to be a pat on the back with no actual reward for your good season!
