WWE '13 Video Game

Anyone else planning to buy this game?

I got mine 20 minutes ago and it's awesome the attitude era mode is incredible so far

Much improved from last year's game

Not sure yet, I stopped buying these games about 5 years ago as the career mode became awful, the road to wm was ok but only lasts for one year and you had to be charaters difined by the game.

Has this one improved that aspect then?

I usually buy them when they first come out but will wait this year until they drop it down in price.

I might get it.

Road to WM has been thrown away for Attitude Era Mode

You get set with 8 different superstars
Im still on the 1st with the formation of DX going through various points in that era

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Mick Foley, The Rock, Bret Hart, Kane and the Undertaker. Story modes still to come

So what you're saying is you get 8 different career modes with those options?

I stopped buying these a while back but if its worth it I might give it a go, also waiting for the price to come down though.

I really need something to assist in the preparation of vegetables for cooking that allows me to use my knife without damaging worksurfaces. Oh and can it play Ultimate Team too?

no as i have given up on these games which just turn out sh*t.
ive tried to give them a chance but every time i buy it turns out awful so no.

The Attitude era mode game does sound awesome though I have to say

I do usually get them on release but I am still playing my Universe mode from WWE12 and I want to see that through to completion before I get the new one.

I am in the Road to Wrestlemania period and have brought SCSA back to the Raw Roster who has instantly turned heel and attacked the Champion CM Punk. I am in the final week leading up to EC in Feb and am toying with the idea of reforming the 3 man Power trip depending on the results of the chamber. I guess I could have Trips and VKM help Austin win the strap from Punk and have them basically dominate the roster, which will lead nicely to the fallout and conclusion at WM.
Plus I have Undertaker as the RR winner and intend for him to challenge for the WHC, the Champion is currently The Miz who has held for 6 months since cashing in his MITB contract, and I am thinking having him drop the belt at EC to Randy Orton which will lead to a title Vs Streak match at Mania.

I need to get out more I think…

Ha! if only, more like New Fifa is out soon, New Fifa is out soon, New Fifa is out next month, New Fifa is out in 3 weeks, New Fifa is out in 2 weeks etc. Telling my son "if mummy asks what should we get Daddy for his birthday say Fifa!!!"

I wanna get it, but the girlfriend doesn't want us to spend another 40 quid on it because of fifa a couple of weeks. I think this is the best wrestling game yet in my opinion with the new improved modes and hopefully will convince her of that and get it when I get paid tomorrow. (fingers crossed)

I pre-ordered this game about a month ago. I ordered the Austin Edition, which to be fair, looks really good. Looking forward to it tomorrow

Anybody who's played the career mode can they advise if they've sorted that god awful impossible reversing from last year?

Yeah it's much easier to reverse this year GazzyD whilst still similar it seems to be more reactive to reversing and the Career mode is ridiculously awesome

good times. I shall whisk over to HMV on my dinner then. I hated it last year, if they reversed you once (which was inevitable) you pretty much knew you was done for

so WWE 13 on the Xbox and Football on manager on the laptop tonight then. Great days

Got my Austin Edition today, and I have to say, what a game! The Attitude Era works so well

I got it yesterday, just started playing the rise of DX! brilliant!

Aye enjoying it so far, I like how all the Attitude bits fit in with each other

Had a blast over weekend, massively improved on last years, I'll happily do a Q&A in a few days like I did last year when I have a little free time if people want?

Yeah do a Q&A mate. I thought last years version was terrible. As mentioned already the reversing was impossible and ruined it for me. I was'nt going to buy wwe 13 because of that.

I've played it for a few days, and I'm equal parts disappointed and pleased.

I've found the game engine to be very erratic and bug ridden. When it behaves itself, its fun but sometimes its very frustrating (collison detection, the AI is either brilliant or rubbish). Its telling that I still consider the WWF No Mercy N64 engine as vastly superior from a purely wrestling aspect.

The Attitude Era mode is awesome, its really great at capturing the mood of the time and recreates some moments brilliantly, for example (SLIGHT SPOILERS)....




The game has you relive the wild brawl between HHH and a debuting Cactus Jack at MSG from 1997. By the end of the match the whole ringside area was a wreck and I felt like I'd just par took in a Attitude era style brawl.

Aye its a bit more bearable this time round.

Have been tearing my hair out at some of the historical objectives to unlock characters but vast improvemnet on last year.

I know the attitude thing has replaced road to wrestlemania, but would have liked to have seen that option remain for created characters

I've not started Universe mode yet, but can you not just play as your custom character through that? Or is it more like Football Manager for wrestling like those old EWR games?

I haven't looked but I'd imagine as you're just being a booker you can use any stars

But it would've been cool to have had just a story mode for your created character to work through running alongside the attitude stuff

It isn't a big downer for me though as a love the game compared to last years outing

The storys on universe mode are apparently much better now, Heyman himself designed them. Yeah I'll do a Q&A no problem, might have to be on sat though, busy at work all week. So mail me your questions and I'll answer as many as I can in a thread on sat. Gives me a chance to fully review the game aswell, probs do a write up off it then aswell.

I bought this today, anyone who fancies some online games fire me a pm, i dont have a mic or anything but would be fun to get some tag team games between a few of us or something.
