Plenty of title changes, very surprised about Hardy's win but I like the Devon Aces & Eights swerve.

Looks like a pretty good PPV.

Havent seen it, but the way it reads is that Devon is a 'member' as oppossed to the guy running it all.

Think theres a few more swerves yet.

Sounds like a good PPV, might actually watch it - Wrestling is dull as dishwater these days, both promotions.

It makes me sad Sad

How is WWE getting better - half the show is promo's, some sections are vintage matches and other parts or just boring matches that are put together for no reason whatsoever.

At least TNA have got some decent story lines going at the moment!!!!!

WWE is getting loads better
Last week's Raw was off the chain
And I'm starting to see the logic of the 3 hours now, because you finally get some quality matches, due to the additional time.

For the record, both TNA and WWE have been using the "one step forward two steps back" approach for years now Whistle

I think WCW used that approach in it's last few years.

D'von can't be the leader, right? That would be really disappointing end to what started as a promising storyline

Devon won't be the leader, only a member. It was certainly a suprise which is a good thing, another good suprise was Matt Morgan showing up and siding with Joey Ryan. However, a poor suprise was the reveal of Tara's boyfriend which was that dude from US Big Brother, I mean really? Would have prefered Eric Young TBH.

All in all, solid PPV, all the matches good, some excellent such as Aries vs Hardy and Roode vs Storm. Storm gets his revenge and Hardy gets his Redemption. Good end to those respective stories.

Somethings I didn't like was the staging, could have done much better for the biggest PPV. The crowd weren't too great and I absolutely hated Bully Ray with Sting's face paint on.

Bound for Glory Results Empty Re: Bound for Glory Results

Post by Fernando Mon 15 Oct 2012, 8:07 pm

This was one of the few times i was actually looking forward to a TNA PPV but i feel this was a major let down from what ive read

Ill start with where i felt it went wrong:

Zema Ion should of kept his title sorry but what momentum he had has just been thrown down the toilet at least have 2 or 3 matches before he loses his title

Kazarian and Daniels should of won the tag titles i don't think the crowd will warm to them chasing after Chavo/Hernandez as the other way around

Tara's Hollywood boyfriend - do i need to say more?

and my biggest gripe of all with the PPV drumroll

Jeff Hardy becoming champion Aries didn't need to lose the title you don't turn someone heel for a week just for a title change drag it longer it just smells of crappy booking to me and has now left Aries either with nothing and goes back to the X Division or a series of rematch after complaining he was screwed etc like a usual heel

Now on to the good points on the PPV

Magnus vs Joe: These guys work well together weather together or apart when they get in the ring they really put on a show

Joey Ryan: Their is something about the guy that is very good reminds me of Aries when he 1st joined TNA be interested to see where he heads with a contract now

Matt Morgan: It's good to see him back where he goes and who he targets next is a different story

Storm vs Roode: This was always going to brutal and it lived up to that some excellent wrestling mixed in with some brutality the end was very good with Storm getting his revenge

Sting/Bubba vs A&8's : Whilst not a classic match it did what it needed to do and that was progress the storyline with them getting access to the Impact Zone but one of their guys being revealed i can't say id thought it would be Devon but could lead to a team 3d re-union if Bubba turns

Overall id give it 7.5/10

Bound for Glory Results Empty Re: Bound for Glory Results

Post by Dr Gregory House MD Wed 17 Oct 2012, 12:32 am

Just finished watching and overall I thought it was a good possibly great PPV,

RVD vs Ion was a good opener, probably could have been MOTN on a lesser PPV, am not too fussed about RVD winning as while he might not as groundbreakingly athletic as some of the other X-Division workers (as exemplified by Ion in that match) he does provide the figure head that the division has needed since it hotshot-ed Aries into the main event, RVD as champion will force an X-Division presence into almost every episode of impact something that we have been crying out for since Destination X and will provide someone for the division to build around until he reliqiushes the belt.

Joe vs Magnus was definatly MOTN for me, fantastic showing by both men, only slight complaint I had was that the camera angle for the finsih was woeful, Kevin Dunn would have had someone fired for that.

The Roode- Storm match was a real bloodbath, blade job of the year by Storm, a lot of great spots and brought back memories of the Texas Death Match between Storm and Harris from a few years back, thought King Mo did a good job as well, a bit of involvement without over shadowing the match and his OMFG facial expressions that he gave for some of the spots, coming from an 'MMA Champion' (even if I'd never heard of him) gave some added kudos to the brutality Storm and Roode were displaying.

Al Snow vs Joey Ryan, who from now on I think I'll refer to as Ryan Fantana, was something of a dissapointement, while I'm pleased Fantana got his contract and Snow looked surprisingly smooth back in the ring, I was dissapointed with the level of offence Fantana got in and the manner in which he won, even with the standard face/heel dynamic it was a poor start for a guy TNA has shown the spotlight on against a guy who has been out of the ring for a good few years now, plus I'm not a Matt Morgan fan, there I said it Adam.

The Triple Tag match was again something of a dissapointment, not a bad match by any streach of the imagination, but with a combination of talents who it was felt could steal the show it didn't quite reach those standards, feeling a little busy in places with a come in, do some spots, get hit, sell outside rotation that stopped any sort of logical storyline building up, the result was also the only of the night I was very annoyed about, Kazaniels have everything about them to be a figurehead tag team and to hotshot the titles on to the 'we're Mexican so we must be friends' team of Chavo and Hernandez with so little build up felt like a call back to the era where TNA were so often bashed with the 'pushing WWE rejects' stick.

The Tara/Tessmacher match was as functional as I expected, it does feel thought as TNA have dumped a perfectly good student vs teacher story, which logically Tessmacher should have won, for the Tara's celeb boyfriend story (who again I've never heard of) and I'm not sure if thats a good thing or not.

The first 10 and a half minutes of Team TNA vs A&8's were perfectly entertaining, it was only the finish and post match where the whole thing went to hell, and I'm not for a second talking about the Devon reveal which was an interesting turn of events, but it defies logic that if Hogan was going to make a No-DQ match, he might consider the possibility that A&8's members might interfere, that Sting and Ray were so poorly supported in a fight supposedly for the future of TNA was also odd, particularly since A&8 had already proved that they were willing to run in earlier in the match, the follow up of the Hogan saves the day routine, with him and Sting standing tall in the ring as 'top star' Ray sells in the corner again harked to TNA at it's worst, this all said it will be interesting to see where the story goes from here.

Finally the main event, this was a very good match despite some timing issues I felt with the pacing of the match, particulary with the finish which I felt was rushed after the big build up, also the halarious sight of Aries rolling into the position for the Swanton, the said everything else was very good, plently of drama and big moves, quite happy with Hardy winning as I felt Aries was burdend in his roll as champion (not helped by his involvement in the A&8's storyline admittedly) and Hardy has real megastar potential that TNA should look to capitalise on.

Lastly a shout out to the Pheonix crowd, they were up for it from start to finish and the atmosphere for the main event was top class, as was the 'this is awkward' chant following Devon's unmasking.

Post by Adam D Thu 18 Oct 2012, 8:21 am

just watched the matches up to the Aces and 8 - very impressed so far.

I thought the X Division match was a lot better than I imagined it would be. Xema Ion was really very good. Its just a shame they havent really given a good feud or any talk time to get over.

Magnus v Joe was a fantastic match as was the Storm v Roode match.

A little disappointed with Kazaniels losing - I cant see them out of the title picture though. I reckon an instant rematch with maybe the Robbies thrown in.

Joey Ryans match was quite poor as he was made to look weak. Would like to see him dominate a few jobbers or even upset a few big names.

Aces and Eights match was quite good but the ending with Hogan was awful. I am a little worried that Devon is behind it all as he said so much "It was me all along" - I really pray they have something better (fingers crossed for the warrior)

Post by Kay Fabe Thu 18 Oct 2012, 2:22 pm

I watched this last night, I thought it was an excellent show, the opener was really good although RVD should never have went over, I wondered why RVD was in the match as he's quite notorious for not putting people over, I didn't expect him to win the title though, not sure what good that does although I'm not the biggest fan of the old Champ anyway.

Roode/Storm was just absolutely brutal, loved the finish and the right guy definitely went over, didn't expect Hardy to win the title either, felt Aries would heel turn and keep the belt, that was of course before I saw the heelish attack on Sunday before the PPV

The big reveal was a joke, I actually thought D-Von about a minute or two before he got unmasked, I'm not to fussed though as that storyline was a bum-steer as soon as Hogan and Sting took it upon themselves to be the fierce defenders of all things TNA, I think Bubba has came into his own during this story though

I'd say its a very good PPV that had everything you'd want even if it's not all popular

Bound for Glory Results Empty Re: Bound for Glory Results

Post by talkingpoint Thu 18 Oct 2012, 10:17 pm

So i've avoided the forums until I'd seen BFG for myself. Just finished watching it and have to say I really loved the PPV.

The X-Division and TV title matches were excellent warm ups and did a great job opening the show. I'm glad RVD won because he's lost in the main event scene now. The crowd really loved RVD, whatever you think of him he can work a crowd. I'm really happy Joe retained, I think he should have a strong run with the title before putting Magnus over. Magnus looked strong though and he's really coming into his own.

The Storm/Roode street fight was the most brutal match I've seen in a 'big' company in ages! Storm wore the proverbial crimson mask so well and I really thought it was the best match of the night for storytelling. Beating Roode with the beer bottle before superkicking him was poetic justice and great writing.

The triple threat tag match had loads of great spots and I suspected it wouldn't be long before they put a title on Chavo. I don't think the match was as good as Angle/Styles v Kazarian/Daniels at No Surrender but the dynamic was different with the additional tag team.

The Tara/Tessmacher match was good for the knockouts but surprised Tara won cleanly. Didn't have a clue who her boyfriend is though.

The crowd was completely behind the Aces & 8s v Sting/Bully Ray - they really did make the match and it was easy to tell they were really enjoying it. I thought the finish was very abrupt, which shocked the crowd and killed the atmosphere abit. The Hogan show afterwards was poor imo but then the collective shock when Devon was revealed was very clever. Ok so it was Devon but no-one saw it coming and TNA genuinely were able to surprise us! For that I give them credit and actually as Bully has played such a prominent role in this feud, it has now become personal with Devon and with their history this has alot of potential. In the long run I think this could work out very entertainingly.

Main event - very surprised the crowd was so split over Hardy but the crowd were so hot during the entire match that the atmosphere was incredible. Aries looked really strong and I'm sure will be champ again in the next year or so. Hardy was superb throughout the match, took the boos well and took an incredible amount of bumps. I thought Hardy was the favourite to win after his redemption storyline and think it was the right decision. The match was 5* for me.

Overall a great PPV, the arena had an intimate feel but big enough to capture the grandness of the occassion. The card was fantastic from top to bottom with some great storytelling and great spots. I'm a very happy fan. Very Happy

Bound for Glory Results Empty Re: Bound for Glory Results

Post by dyrewolfe Fri 19 Oct 2012, 3:18 pm

Dammit!

Completely forgot this was happening this week. Sounds like it lived up to its billing of "biggest PPV of the year".

Surprised that RVD took the belt off Ion. Then again the X Division hasn't been up to much since Brian Kendrick left (barring a few good title defences by Aries). Maybe Rob is the figurehead they need to rebuild the X Division around? I suppose it also gives Ion some continued exposure in his quest to regain his title - he's been fairly quiet of late.

The TV title match was always going to be predictable in a clash between Joe and Magnus, but as was pointed out, those two do work well together.

Really regret missing the Roode vs Storm street fight...that sounded epic!

I think the result of the Ryan vs Snow fight was the right one...after all if they've kept Ryan around this long I suppose they have to take him on eventually. Sounds like it was badly staged though. Surely if they wanted to establish Ryan's heel credentials it would've made more sense for him to pull a dirty trick on Al, instead of having Morgan interfere?

As far as the Tag Team title match goes, I'd have preferred to see Kaz and Daniels keep the belts with their usual dirty tricks. Like the X Division, the tag team scene is almost non-existent and really needs some strong characters to build around. Either that or at least give the belts to a couple of long-serving vets like Styles and Angle, rather than johnny-come-latelys like Hernandez and Guerrero.

Think the Knockouts' title match was a good result as it keeps the Tara - Tessmacher feud going...and those two ladies can wrestle! Expect Brooke to get the belt back in a few weeks. Just one question...where the hell are all the other Knockouts?

As to the Team TNA vs Aces & Eights match, I always thought Sting was a poor choice, given he's more of a figurehead than a wrestler these days (much as I love the guy). That said, it sounds like it played out pretty well, until Hogan came steaming in at the end...would have preferred a few guys rushing in from backstage.

Then again, having the Hulkster rush in to save his buddy does make sense. Having Devon revealed as a member of A&E also explains why Bully was chosen for the match...or at least sets up the possibility of a future storyline for the pair of them.

A couple of minor gripes aside, it sounds like BFG was a real humdinger.

I think the fact that Chavo dedicated his tag team title reign to Eddie says it all, people criticise Rey for using Guerrero to get himself over, but he was at least fairly over for other reasons besides Eddie, Chavo has devolved into some parody in which the only reason anybody cares about him, or he seems even slightly relevant is because of Eddie.

Shame, because he's better than that, or at least he used to be.

I actually burst out laughing when I seen him dedicate the title to Eddie, totally empty gesture, or at least that's how it came across, it'd have been different if Eddie had always wanted to win a TNA Tag Title but as they where in their infancy when Eddie died then that's doubtful

Just seen the first two matches so far - Zema/RVD & Joe/Magnus and both were excellent matches. Got to say, having the PPV away from the impact zone is so refreshing to see.

I'd be interested to see what sort of attendence they got for the event, the venue looked a lot bigger than the impact zone, and looked almost if not full. What PPV buy-rates did it also draw, I know Adam's normally on the pulse with these type of things conserning TNA.

I didn't think it looked as big as slammiversary but the atmosphere more than made up for it. Remember Pheonix/Arizona is a new market for TNA, so they took a strategic risk. The crowd were hot so hopefully there will be more events there in the future and the market on the West coast will begin to expand. TNA are moving forward, the PPV delivered the quality you'd expect from their flagship show.

Here's a cool music video with footage from the PPV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57576c1ct-Y&feature=player_embedded

Post by The_Enigma Mon 22 Oct 2012, 6:03 pm

It's took me a few days, and means that probably nobody will read this comment but I've finally watched Bound For Glory now.

I'd have to say it was an excellent PPV from start to finish and so much more of a step-up from No Surrender last month. The first two matches were great openers worthy on any PPV, I hope down the line we see an RVD/Zema ladder matches as the spots in that could be epic. The Storm/Roode match lived up to it's hype and it's something to me that remains fresh and I wouldn't have a problem if I saw them go at it further down the line.

Finally the main event, even though a lot of people were against the idea of Aries dropping the belt, I think it could be a good move. It's a smart move placing the title on Hardy, let's face it it's been a public story on how he's turned his life around and the casual fan's are suckers for that kinda stuff, he's also their biggest draw in terms of money and it's no different to what WWE do when Cena holds the title. Their match was insane and had some real good spots in their, I'd be looking forward to their rematch if it's on a PPV stage. I think also allows the fans to embrace Aries as an ultimate heel. I think there's a lot more to come from these pair.

I'd have to give the PPV a 9.2 out of 10. The second best TNA PPV of the year!
