NFL Competition - Super Bowl Week Results

First topic message reminder :

One game with everything up for grabs. crazy_dave, asdral225, BamBam and tigerrobins all had the title in their sights going into Sunday's Super Bowl but only one could come out on top. 10 points separated them before the game and 10 points separated the four after the game.

crazy_dave and BamBam both went for a 49ers win and scored 6 and 5 points respectively. That left crazy_dave on 3687 points and BamBam on 3681. So asdral225 and tigerrobins who both went for a Ravens win needed 12 and 17 points respectively to top the leaderboard. asdral225 had a 20-17 win for the Ravens so picked up just the 10 points for the correct call leaving him on 3686. tigerrobins had the Ravens to win 31-24 and scored 20 points from that game which was enough to take him from fourth to first in the overall leaderboard.

So after 267 games CONGRATULATIONS TO TIGERROBINS for taking the title .

Away from the overall leaderboard skyforger won the Super Bowl week (for the second year running) with a top score of 24 points while Barney92's 16 points from Sunday was enough to leapfrog crazy_dave and win the Playoffs Competition.

Also worth a mention are Derbyblue had the best average score over the year and adams_legend who call the most games the correct way in 175 games.

I took too many risks that didn't pay off. Glad I still held in to 3rd overall at least.

quite a battle for that cherished 3rd spot...only 18 points separating 3rd and 7th

Happy with that! Only game I got wrong was me stupidly going for the Cowboys to win in Atlanta! That also cost me £80 on accumulator!

Credit to bambam for climbing back up the leaderboard after missing most of the games one week

That correct score really helped me as I knew from keeping tabs on results for The Pulling Linemen prediction competition that I got quite a few of the games the wrong way.

Climbed my way up to 2nd

Week 10 scores are now up. I was helped out alot this week by getting the Saints vs Falcons game correct.

joint 7th this week, joint 4th overall....

still to bag a correct score this season, which i need to do to challenge the top...

Oh my God. I've dropped from 3rd and now I'm not even on the average score table!!! I should get my owner to sack me for the last 3-4 weeks poor form.

Slowly but surely, i'm climbing the table. (Back) Upto 11th now, will be happy to finish top 5 from here.

Good grief, a victory. Topping the weekly score has made up for a season of poor performance. 38-17 to the Saints

What a bad week! Came last, Dropped down from 3rd/4th to 7th and dropped out of the average scores top 5!

Still saying the only thing that matters is average points. If I could remember to give predictions for every game every week I'd be winning by a mile.

Averages are brought up when there are less results to base them on ...

Not necessarily true considering 2, 3 and 4 are top 3 in the overall board suggesting you've predicted almost every game.

Hadn't spotted that lol .. but I did miss a whole load of 6pm kick offs once, otherwise I reckon I would be in the lead!

must admit, i'm finding it alot harder this year then last...every game this season is either 52-30 or 13-9

I'm ahead of last year after 14 weeks!

at last, a decent week...probably left it a little too late though to challenge for the title

Week 17 result tables are now up. wadey101 missed the 6pm games on Sunday so has gone from odds on favourite to 6th place overall and opened up the competition for the top six going into the 11 play off games.

That slip allowed asdral225 to take the overall leader and the regular season title.

Weekly win by alphabetical order...

And i'm in with a shout overall after a good end to the year... still not on the average board which suggests its volume over quality!

*Although having looked at the excel version i'm 6th on averages!

WHAT A WEEK

Top of the playoffs, top of the overall and I've FINALLY cracked the average score lists!

Well the overall championship is gone but only 5 points off the top of the playoffs. Need a good result in the super bowl now.

Finished the season on a high. Scoring 3pts in the superbowl is really quite impressive.

Happy with 7th place overall though, will be pushing for the top 5 next year. Congratulations to the winners.
