Sri Lanka to win first series for three years ?

Sri Lanka looking good to wrap up the series 2-0 against the up and coming Pakistan team. With a dip in form from Ajmal and good batting from SL's top order and a little help from the umpires in the first Test bringing about the change in fortunes.

Sri Lanka, who won the first Test in Galle and drew the second in Colombo, have their best chance of winning their first series in three years since defeating New Zealand 2-0 at home in 2009.

With the win, SL will leapfrog Pakistan in the rankings.

wow- thats a shock- what is it with pakistain- most inconsitant team ever.

Haven't really followed this series for some reason (not on a proper channel in the UK). But this is still a surprise. Pakistan thrashed SL in the UAE, and looked to be on the up and up culminating in the England series. But since then they've stalled. Bizarre.

Look at the scorecards and it was a thrashing though.

1st Test - SL 197 and 483; Pak 511-6 dec and 21-1. Drawn.
2nd Test - SL 239 and 257; Pak 403 and 94-1. Won by 9 wkts.
3rd Test - SL 413 and 181-6; Pak 340 and 87-4. Drawn.

So only the 3rd Test was really a close contest.
