PREMIERSHIP REVIEW

What a finale to the Premiership season...after a back and forth battle for the league title our winner was finally decided. Manos De Piedra incredibly makes it back-to-back titles to go along with his Cup victory. He is seemingly the King of predictions and after yet another triumph one wonders whether people will have to start using foreign prediction tycoons in order to topple the all conquering champion. He was run close by The Galveston Giant who finished level on points with him, however his highest weekly score of 14 was not enough to grab the title. Last weeks leader compelling & rich cracked under the pressure in the final week, recording only a score of 7. Whilst he will be disappointed to miss out in such a close title race he will be pleased with a Top 4 finish which means he will enter the Cup competition during the latter stages. Rounding off the Top 4 was alma...who again had his lowest score at the worst possible time (5 pts). Missing out on a late cup entry place was Sherm by just a solitary point. At the foot of the table it was a case of a number of people hoping not to be in that final spot come the end. 2 places had already been settled with Imperial Ghosty and AdamK too far back barring a miracle...that miracle didn't happen and once more both failed to submit predictions costing them their place in the top flight. So it was down to a straight fight between 4 contestants. lfc91 had been looking over his shoulder for much of this campaign...however he saved his best to last scoring 14 points, in the process securing another season in the Premiership. tomfinneywalksonwater and Union Cane, who is quickly becoming the Wigan of the OMPL with his escapes, would have been left to sweat after scoring just 5 points in the final week.....but they can be thankful that it was enough in the end. as1079 ended up taking the last relegation spot having failed to submit predictions.

CHAMPIONSHIP REVIEW

In the battle for a place in the Premiership this seasons Championship came down to another thrilling climax. Heading into the final week owen10ozzy held a comfortable 5 point lead...yet he tried his best to throw it away, scoring just 9 points. In the end it proved to be just enough to take the title and with it automatic promotion. The final automatic promotion spot could have gone to any number of people but in a nail biting finish it was Daz who grabbed it...his highest weekly score of 15 clinching it on countback from yojimbonufc who agonizingly finished tied on 45 points with his rival. The remaining play off places went pretty much to form with the 3 remaining spots going to contestants who had been in the top 6 heading into the final week. Bhb001 scored just 10 points and whilst he dropped from 2nd he will in the end be pleased to still have a shot at promotion. trenchtownbaboon finished off a great first season with a play off spot and joining him is Bellchees. The 4 will now battle it out in the play offs to determine who grabs the 1 remaining spot in the Premiership next season. Sadly it was a bit of a flat ending in the battle against relegation this time around. The 3 players who filled the bottom 3 last week failed to submit any predictions yet again and have been punished for there lack of commitment to the league. Rowley, JJJohnson and Azania all drop out of the OMPL. Congratulations go to Il Giablloblu who scored the highest this week...his 17 points almost grabbed him a shock play off spot and if he can show more consistency next season then he may perhaps get to taste life in the top flight. For everyone else it was a case of mid table mediocrity and back to the drawing board in preparation for Season 3 of the OMPL.
