Just went out for some time and England managed to lose a couple of wickets, No ton for Cook after his charmed life out there in the middle, and if Jonathan Trott too played a quicker but shorter innings and both got out to Ravi Rampaul. Strauss taking the attack to Shillingford, think that's the way to go. And you never need to tell that to KP, do you?

Yikes. Thats 3 close lbw calls against KP already. Wonder how muck longer his luck will hold out?

Rampaul again, hitting KP on the pad, but KP is ok.
But good job from Rampaul, he's producing some good balls.

Kemar Roach back on, and this time's its Ramdin who contributes extra runs, letting one right through him. Oh he does it again of the next ball.

Good Lord! KP inside-edges one over his stumps. He really is living a charmed life out there at the moment. He could be out any moment or he could go on to get 80-90. Its certainly never boring with him at the crease.

Strauss looking in really good nick with a couple more nicely hit boundaries (hope that doesn't jinx him).

50 partnership between the captain and KP. A few edgey moments, but a good effort nevertheless. And England not letting Shillingford settle. Another couple of boundaries of his over from Strauss. In his 9 overs, Shillingford has gone at over 5.

Well, Strauss comfortably outscoring Pietersen here, playing some fine shots in between a couple of edgey ones.

Samuels on for Shillingford. And Boycott on TMS says help yourselves!. Pietersen obliges with another boundary!.

Quick single from KP, well taken there, but he just should be careful.

I don't think the Windies have the bowling attack to force a result. If it swings England will feel confident though

KP loves that push to mid off and scamper a single ,doesn't he ?

His partners have be sure they are backing up as a good non-striker should...reckon Strauss thought that one was a bit tight.

Sammy now going to have a go at bowling cutters maybe , with the keeper up ?

Very dificult for WI here. Roach has had problems with the landing, Sammy's going at 4.6 without any impact, Shilling getting smashed around at over 5. England scoring quickly and they haven't lost many wickets.

200 up for England. Strauss on 82 and looking very comfortable. KP on 35, looking a little less certain at times, but at least he's still there.

England on course to build a healthy 1st inning lead at the moment.

May be Sammy should throw the ball to some of his batsmen, might just be the way to play on KP's ego. Other than Rampaul and Roach despite his no ball troubles, the bowling just looks absolutely ordinary!. Place into context the show by the England bowlers yesterday evening.

England still want a lot more runs , and preferably quickly , but if KP gets set again tomorrow that seems rather achievable.

strauss might as well play some shots now tonight, we all know the drill the next morning when he's not out over night.

Just goes to show just how important Sammy and Samuels partnership was yesterday.

Can't say I'm surprised - after watching Samuels and Sammy making hay yesterday I rather expected England to monster this West Indian attack on what I would call an absolute road...

Five hundred plus I reckon.

Unless cloud cover develops it might be a case of how many England want.

England are also scoring at a very rapid rate which is making this match open.

I imagine they'd want to build up at least a 200 run lead, probably have the Indies batting sometime before close.

That was a good partnership at the end.



Lots of work to do still but at least they have brought England back into this a bit.

259/2 at stumps, there's masses of runs in this pitch and there's plenty of time to bat. Double tons are very possible for Strauss and KP although we know the skipper doesn't tend to do well the following day if's he on a ton. Let's make 600 and declare around lunch time Day 4 by which time the pitch and the Windies will have been worn. Excellent chances here for Bell and Prior to score big and for Bairstow to made his first sizeable contribution.
