Haye Chisora for WBO #1 Ranking?

Apologies for yet another thread on this turgid subject, however I have just come across this letter from the Luxembourg Federation to the WBO :

Dear Mr. Valcarcel :

I am writing to you regarding the Dereck Chisora vs David Haye bout, to be staged in London, England on July 14, 2012 under the supervision of the Federation Luxembourgeoise de Boxe (FLB). As is common knowledge, it is in full accordance with European Union laws – and, as you know, actually practiced since years in many European countries - for FLB to supervise professional boxing within the jurisdiction of all member countries of the European Union, to which the United Kingdom belongs.

Since neither Mr. Chisora nor Mr. Haye are currently holding a boxers licence from any other Federation nor is either one of them banned or suspended, the FLB has decided, subject to satisfactory medicals, to grant both of them such licences.

Therefore, we are requesting to you to assess the possibility of including them into the WBO heavyweight world rankings and grant their bout eliminator status for the # 1 position.

We are greatly appreciative of your support and look forward to a good cooperation on this promotion with the WBO.

Kindly let us know as soon as possible regarding our above proposal.

If accepted this would then mean that the winner would become the mandatory challenger for Wladimir's WBO belt.

Bloody hell - this is a weird one.

I can't see the WBO giving this much thought, they'll just say "moneys?" and go for it.

Not sure why he wrote to Mr Valcarel, would it not have been easier to send the letter straight to Warren.

Good for the LBF. They licenced two otherwise unlicenced boxers. I don't see the problem. If Haye wins I cant see a Wlad rematch. Just see how quickly the WBC opens up when it bends over to recieve Haye back into their fold.

Yep, they are not a very straight organisation imo.

Farcical from start to finish strange thing is it could have been good for boxing (well viewing figures) if any of it had have been dealt with effectively.

I've got a belt back home where I have carved in the words "world heavyweight champion" with a compass. On one side I have glued on a picture of boxing gloves on the other Muhammed Ali's face.

The Super D Boon International Boxing Commission (SDBIBC) can also sanction this fight for a very reasonable fee!

I got one of those for Christmas, it's pretty awesome. No way would I trade it for the WBO international and WBA inter-continental belts.

Goes to show how structured the sanctioning bodies ranking systems are. Just send in a letter politely asking to be moved up the rankings and its all good.

Would the WBO actually contemplate this given the fighters involved and the fact that it is being promoted by Frank Wa .... Sorry! Just answered my own question.

Thats why they moved that dead guy up the rankings - it was probably a request in his will
