The reason that England didn't get Farrell

Apparently Saracens were offered only £60k for the remaining 2 years on his contract. Perhaps England didn't really want him in the first place?

I am more than pleased that Farrell was not selected. After all the £60,000 was just a payoff to the Saracens before they started negotiating a personal salary.

This is the attack coach that has generated very little in terms of tries for club or country.

In fact I think that he is more interested in keeping his own whitewash unsullied than dirtying the opposition's.

Not a bad stop-gap backs coach, but a totally uninspiring one looking forward.

A £60k expenditure just to get down to a nominal zero seems more than generous. Let the Sarries keep him...
